It allows stunts like barrel rolls and backflips, and if you know a few people with the impressive devices, there's always the option of doing some formation Jetovatoring.
They are powered by a 50ft long hose that is four inches in diameter, propelling the user into the sky and letting them skim across the water.
In their online advertising, the creators of the Jetovator describe it as 'a revolutionary new watersports accessory that uses your existing personal water-craft to elevate you to heights you never thought possible.'
Perhaps stretching the metaphors a little bit, it is described as having the 'aerial capabilities of a fighter aircraft'.
It's not just a one-person hobby, multiple users can do some formation 'dancing' on the machines
Close up: Despite the fast pace of the Jetovators, they are actually as easy as riding a bike, according to their creators
Coming in for landing: The machines cost a princely $8,975 but come packed with accessories
They are considered to be so easy to use, however, that first-time riders will fly like pros within a few sessions.
And it's not just useful for getting high above the water - it can reach 30ft high - but it can also go 10ft under the surface.
The Jetovator comes hot on the heels of the Jetlev-Flyer, a futuristic jet pack that is different in that it is attached to the rider's back rather than them riding it like a bike.
Canadian engineer Raymond Li designed the water-powered machine so that it can hover up to 30 metres in the air and reach speeds of up to 22mph as you make your way across the water.
