Four men repeatedly 'raped and pimped out young woman for eight years starting when she was 13'
Authorities have charged four men with terrorizing and raping a young New York City woman for eight years.
Brooklyn
District Attorney Charles Hynes said on Wednesday the victim was 13
when she was first attacked by two of the men.
He said they 'violently raped and assaulted' her in a park.
All four men indicted in the case, including Damien Crooks (left) and Darrell Dula (right), were charged with rape
The Orthodox Jewish girl from Crown Heights was first raped by Damien Crooks, 31, and Jamali Brockett, 27, in a neighbourhood park in 2003, according to court records; his brother Jawara Brockett, 33, joined them in raping the victim in 2007, and Darrell Dula, 24, joined in 2010 after she allegedly refused to help Crooks recruit other girls for prostitution.
Jamali Brockett is currently incarcerated in a federal prison on separate charges
Hynes said the suspects intimidated her into silence and threatened to harm her family if she reported them.
He claimed they also forced her to have sex with strangers and kept the money, and repeatedly beat and raped her over eight years.
Hynes said Crooks 'even sold her on the street for $20 to a passerby,' reports the New York Daily News.
The victim lived with her family and finished high school and college, obtaining a degree in criminal justice.
Hynes said she finally told a professor after the suspects threatened to assault her younger sister.
The professor persuaded her to go to authorities.

In addition, Brockett was charged with compelling prostitution, Crooks was charged with sex trafficking and Dula was charged with assault.
Crooks and Dula were arraigned on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Joseph McKay set bail at $50,000 for Dula and $1million dollars for Crooks, who has 37 prior arrests and six convictions.
'The recitation of what he's charged with is frightening. Very very frightening,' McKay said.
Jamali Brockett is currently incarcerated in a federal prison on separate charges and his brother Jawara is in police custody in Brooklyn.
