Lucy Spraggan makes her red carpet debut with fiancée Georgina Gordon at the LGBT Awards

There wasn't a better place for newly engaged Lucy Spraggan and Georgina Gordon to make their red carpet debut than the LGBT Awards.

Lucy - who found fame during 2012's X Factor competition - arrived with her fiancée on Friday night in a chic black trouser suit and white shirt.

Georgina opted for a more feminine outfit in a plunging black dress featuring a deep slit to show off some leg.

Lucy popped the question to her blonde girlfriend earlier this month during a romantic cruise down the River Thames.

Georgina said yes, so it was a double celebration for Lucy, whose brand new single Unsinkable was released on the same day.

Spraggan shared her joy on Instagram with a picture of the two of them kissing and the caption: I guess I'll confirm the rumours... Love you all.'

Lydia Bright was also in attendance at the LGBT event, wearing a rather retro ensemble.

BBC broadcaster Graham Norton scooped the Broadcaster of the Year gong. He saw off stiff competition from the likes of Paul O'Grady, Nick Grimshaw, Stephen Fry and Mary Portas. The comedian, who has presented his own show since 2007, collected the award and thanked the public for selecting him as their winner.

Other awards up for grabs included Sports Personality of the Year, Celebrity Rising Star, Global Icon, Corporate Straight Ally and the coveted Lifetime Achievement accolade.

Tom Daley won the Sports Personality of the Year Award while Kylie Minogue secured Global Gay Icon accolade. Both stars sent video messages that were broadcast to the 500-strong VIP audience.

The awards show, dubbed Britain's 'gay oscars', saw an array of A-list celebrities grace the red carpet. Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Conor Maynard and Rebecca Ferguson all turned out for the occasion. Ferguson performed live alongside fellow Scouser Marcus Collins.
