Paralympic champion Colbourne smashes world record in 200m time trial

Paralympic champion Mark Colbourne set a new world record as he won the Paracycling 200 metres time trial at the National Track Championships in Manchester.

Colbourne, who claimed C1 3km individual pursuit gold in London, crossed the line in a time of 14.177 seconds, well inside the previous world best of 14.875secs and ahead of Sophie Thornhill and pilot Megan Boyd.

Another Paralympic champion, Jody Cundy, had to settle for fourth in the able-bodied kilo, behind winner Kian Emadi, who finished in a time of 62.435s.

World junior road champion Lucy Garner claimed victory in the women's 3000m individual pursuit, reeling in early leader Charline Joiner to win in 3:52.414
