Even sports stars take Christmas off, and thanks to Twitter we've been able to get a glimpse inside their lives on the big day.

Here, Sportsmail picks out the best from around the world, including Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, golfer Ian Poulter, rugby ace Danny Care and Olympic champions Greg Rutherford.

CM123 - Some are out of training and only enjoying time with their families. Afterall they often get acccused of not caring or being in reality.
