London Welsh 'frustrated' after Saracens deny them first win of season in LV= Cup
- Saracens defeated London Welsh 20-15 in the LV= Cup
- London Welsh assistant coach Matthew Ferguson left feeling 'frustrated'
- The Exiles entered the game on a 21-match losing streak
London Welsh assistant coach Matthew Ferguson could not hide his frustration after his side blew their chance to claim a first win of the season against Saracens in the LV= Cup.
The Exiles looked on course to end their 21-match losing run after Opeti Fonua's brace helped them into a 15-14 lead with 20 minutes remaining only for Ben Spencer to hit two late penalties to secure a 20-15 victory for Mark McCall's youthful side.
'Massive frustration,' said Ferguson after the match. 'That's taking nothing away from a very talented and cohesive Saracens team. I feel that there were opportunities there for us to kick on and find that elusive win that we've looked for.

London Welsh assistant coach Matthew Ferguson described the laste collapse as a 'massive frustration'
'There's been fixtures this year when we've not been in (the game)... but we were in that fixture. I feel that we have to demand better from ourselves across the board.
'We were our own worst enemies out there. It wasn't a game where a number of top-class internationals cut us apart. We beat ourselves.'
Tom May's misplaced pass led to huge swing in momentum just before half-time as Spencer capitalised on the centre's mistake to touch down for their opening try.
'That's what you get at the top level,' said Ferguson. They need one opportunity and score from 50 metres. We had 70 per cent possession in that first half and never looked like scoring.
'What's happened there is we've killed ourselves by not being accurate. We lost that game because of our inaccuracy and our inability to get over the line. That's probably the poorest way to lose.'

Saracens skills coach Joe Shaw was thrilled with his inexperienced outfit as they ground out a win against a London Welsh side that included Olly Barkley, May and monster number eight Fonua.
'I have to say, with regards to what London Welsh put out in their starting XV, on paper it looked very intimidating,' said Shaw
'I think, to a man, they showed incredible spirit and togetherness that we talk about at Saracens day in, day out. This particular group have proved why our club is so special.'
