Former CM Yeddyruppa is ready to wait for Supreme Court verdict on scam

Former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has been told to wait till Friday to know whether he will get back the coveted post.
For, the Supreme Court is expected to announce on Friday its judgment on the recommendation to be made by the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) on the need for an inquiry by the CBI into the alleged bribery charge against Yeddyurappa.
The message was conveyed to Yeddyurappa by BJP national leader (Karnataka in-charge) Dharmendra Pradhan. Yeddyurappa, who took two days to review the BJP national leader's advice, on Tuesday agreed to abide by the party decision and wait till Friday.
Samaja Parivarthane Samudaya, an NGO, had approached the apex court seeking a CBI probe into the bribery charge faced by Yeddyurappa.
The court, in turn directed the CEC, which is looking into illegal mining in Karnataka in order to examine the NGO's plea.
On Wednesday, the CEC is supposed to submit its recommendation; it will be taken up by the apex court for review on Friday. If the CEC and the SC give a clean chit to Yeddyurappa, the path to the CM's chair will be easy for him.
But, going by the charges against him, it is unlikely the CEC will reject the NGO's petition easily.
According to the Lokayukta, which prepared a detailed report on illegal mining in Bellary district, Yeddyurappa's family trust received Rs 30 crore as bribe from two real estate firms, which had allegedly benefited from mining.
The same bribery charge has been referred by the NGO in its petition to the Supreme Court.
But with the Karnataka high court quashing the Lokayukta's report, the sanctity of the findings is now being questioned. For now, Yeddyurappa is keeping his fingers crossed.
