Edward's TV company denies faking documentary

Prince Edward's TV company Ardent today denied claims that it faked a raunchy documentary about expatriate Brits living in Singapore.

"The allegations are false," said Ardent's spokesman Malcolm Cockren.

The Mirror reported that the Earl of Wessex approved the script and orchestrated sales to Channel 5, which screened the explicit programme last July.

"Edward had nothing to do with this programme," said Mr Cockren. "He was working on other productions at the time and was not even an executive producer."

The programme, X-Pats, was made in Singapore for Ardent by young British producer Ed Sayer, the son of a prominent lawyer.

The Mirror claimed that some scenes, including nudity and offensive behaviour, were staged for the cameras.
