It's not long since Kieron Richardson tied the knot in his on-screen wedding and on Saturday the Hollyoaks star celebrated his real wedding to his boyfriend Carl Hyland.

Kieron, best known for playing Ste Hay on the soap, and his new husband Carl were surrounded by a bevy of soap stars and friends with the bridesmaids all in long white dresses, giving the impression of more brides than grooms.

Though one guest stole focus by arriving a rather busty number that accentuated her ample chest.

The loved-up pair posed for photographs in front of Buxton Dome in Devon with as many as 12 bridesmaids, including Jennifer Metcalfe and Gemma Merna.

The happy couple switched between smiling for the camera and sharing a kiss as their friends could barely contain their grins.

Jennifer, who is thought to be returning to the show as Mercedes McQueen, was stood with her once on-screen sister Carmel as they posed for group photographs with the fellow bridesmaids.

To the left of Carl for the main photo was Stephanie Davis, Kieron's best friend and co-star on the Channel 4 soap.

Known for her role as Sinead O'Connor in the show, she looked chuffed to bits on her pal's big day.

Earlier in the day she took to Instagram to gush over how far her best friend had come.

She wrote, 'May be feeling terrible and throat so sore.. Nothing is gonna stop me from watching my best friend walk down the isle to his love. Wow what a special day ️xx'.

She then posted a snap of the old friends from years ago, both heavily fake tanned with a moving and jokey message.

It said, 'Sat here getting make up done welling up and laughing at the same time, today my best friend is getting married...

'When I look back over the years it's hard to believe how grown up you are now getting married!!!'

The wedding party was full of Kieron's Hollyoaks co-stars including Jorgie Porter, Jasmine Franks and Jennifer Metcalfe.

Former co-star Bronagh Waugh (known for playing Cheryl Brady) was also at the top of the step rocking a white dress.

Joining them was former Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack, who like most of the wedding party had chosen a strapless dress.

She shared her love on Twitter earlier in the day saying, 'SO excited & honoured to be a bridesmaid today for my wonderful friends.. LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH!'

The friends and co-stars could barely contain their happiness with many of them taking to Twitter to congratulate the happy couple.

Jasmine Franks, who plays Esther on Hollyoaks wrote, 'Wide awake since 6:30. Too excited to sleep. Today's the day!!!! I get to be bridesmaid for two of the most beautiful men I know!'

Not everyone managed to be a bridesmaid and a number of the guests were either current or past Hollyoaks cast members.

Jessica Ellis, who plays Kieron's on screen sister Tegan was wearing black for what appeared to be monochrome themed wedding.

She took to Twitter on the day to write, 'Just so happy that I live in a place that let's two PEOPLE who love each other marry! Congratulations Carl Hyland and Kieron Richardson.'

Joining her was Kirsty-Leigh Porter who plays Leela Lomax, her character's sister, who wore a pretty white dress with flowers in her hair.

Also in attendance was Nikki Sanderson, also wearing white, known for playing Maxine on the soap.

Anna Passey, who plays Sienna Blake was also there, wearing a cut-out black dress holding hands with co-star Nick Rhys, otherwise known as Lockie Campbell.

His on-screen wife Porsche McQueen (played by Twinnie Lee Moore) was also there wearing a fluffy beige jacket and sunglasses.

Charlie Wernham, who plays Robbie Roscoe was also there with his girlfriend as was Joe Tacini, who left the show a few months ago.

Stephanie Waring, who plays Cindy on the show also picked black for the occasion, wearing a sparkly floor-length dress.

Good luck kiss: The actress planted a smacker of Kieron's lips before he walked down the aisle

Kieron and Carl announced their engagement last summer, after being together for seven years.

The popular star came out in 2010 when he revealed on national television that, like his on-screen character Ste, he is gay as well.

'I am gay in real life and at 20 years old I kind of accepted it myself and now I can finally relate to my character Ste that he is 20 and he's going through things that I went through in my past,’ he said at the time.
