Britain's Got... a new music mogul? David Walliams jokes that he's starting his own record label for BGT contestant and 'friend to the stars' Paul Manners
After making a name for himself as a comedian and going on to become a prolific swimmer and children's writer, it appears that David Walliams is keen to add another string to his bow.
During Saturday night's broadcast of ITV's Britain's Got Talent, the TV personality jokingly announced that he was starting his own record label to manage 'friend to the stars' Paul Manners.
And 30-year-old Paul - whose performance failed to impress Simon Cowell - arrived with a celebrity endorsement in hand, as he told the judges he'd hosted Peter Andre's brother's wedding in Cyprus.

Mogul: David Walliams, left, jokingly declared that he was starting his own record label so he could release a single by Britain's Got Talent contestant Paul Manners, right, during Saturday's broadcast of the show
The hopeful told the judges, including Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, of Peter's reaction to his talents: 'He said, "Paul, you don't look the part but you sound amazing."'
However, when he began singing his personally-penned track, Hold You In My Arms, his shaky vocals, followed by briefly forgetting his own lyrics prompted an immediate 'no' buzz from Simon.
Despite an unlikely enthusiastic reaction from the audience and remaining judges, Simon stated at the end: 'The song was horrific and you forgot the words to your own song.'
Hug it out: David appeared to be quite moved by Paul's self-composed track, while Simon was unimpressed

David followed by deeming Paul 'a born entertainer' and added that his catchy ditty was a potential 'hit record', prompting music mogul Simon asked the funnyman if he'd be prepared to finance the track's release, to which he replied - after much thought: 'No problem.'
Simon then dryly informed the contestant: 'Paul, you've now got a record deal with David Walliams.'
As elated 'friend to the stars' Paul shook hands with David, the former Little Britain star cautiously told him: 'We'll get into all the details another time.'

An unmoved Simon was then heard telling his fellow judges of Paul: 'He is so annoying.'
But Paul won the support of many on social media, with TOWIE star Gemma Collins tweeting during the broadcast: 'I wana hold you in my arms @paulm_official. well done xxx loved it. (sic)'
Later on in the show, David joked that he wanted to sign one or two less-than-stellar vocalists who took to the stage to audition - prompting Simon to defiantly forbid him from doing so.

But David eventually expressed some remorse, when 15-year-old hopeful Isaac Waddington wowed the judges and audience alike with his rendition of Billy Joel's She's Always A Woman.
After the comedian said that the song 'would shoot to the top of the charts if it were released on my record label', he was later seen pleading with Simon: 'Could he be on my record label? I feel I might have got the wrong one.'
Among other musical acts also winning over the judges and audience were gospel group Revelation Avenue, whose rousing rendition of Roar earned them the Golden Buzzer - sending them straight through to the live semi-finals.
