Jenna Dewan Tatum is married to one Hollywood's biggest heartthrobs - Channing Tatum - but when she stepped out on Saturday evening, all eyes were on her.

The 34-year-old looked stunning in a flowing black ballgown as she stepped solo onto the red carpet for the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

She opted to make a bit of a girls' night of the event, as the star's date for the evening was her mother Nancy Bursch.

Jenna wore a long, black ballgown, with a white top which was embellished with a detailed design made of white and gold beading.

The fitted frock hugged to the star's waist, showing off her trim figure, before flaring out to wide, flowing skirts.

She coupled the striking gown with a pair of dramatic, dangling silver earrings and coordinating silver rings.

For the White House Correspondents Dinner, the Step Up star chose a beautifully embellished Reem Acra gown. The strapless floor length number featured a black and white color block design.

The actress took to Instagram earlier in the day to share a snap of the night's preparations, writing: '#WHCD time!! Can't wait!' alongside a photo of piles of make-up.

She then shared a snap of her mother, Nancy, who sported a cozy white bathrobe as she showed off her make-up.
