Crowd demands refund after Dave Chapelle delivers 'slurred-speech' comedy routine at Detroit club
Dave Chapelle delivered a 'slurred-speech' comedy routine on Thursday that left many observers wondering if he was drunk during his performance, TMZ has claimed.
The 41-year-old comedian allegedly 'rambled,' told very few jokes and 'sat quietly' as he puffed away on cigarettes during his stand-up show at The Fillmore theater in Detroit.
A representative for the funnyman told the celebrity website that it was 'definitely not his best set.'

Indeed, the star of Half Baked served up an act that was missing many ingredients.
According to TMZ, some audiences members thought Dave appeared to be 'seemingly wasted' when he took to the stage an hour late for the 9:30 p.m. program.
In a video recording obtained by the website, a heckler interrupted the bizarre display, shouting: 'Let's hear some of the act!'
Dave responded: 'Well, sir, it's a little late for that. Right now I've gotta get off the stage because it's 2 o'clock in the morning.'
Several viewers corrected the TV personality, responding: 'It's only 1 (a.m.).'

It was the Undercover Brother actor's second sold-out performance of the night.
Earlier, his show was described as 'cool and calm' with 'sharp' material, the Detroit News reported.
Despite the disappointing display, the You've Got Mail actor redeemed himself on Friday using the disastrous performance as fodder for his act, a spokesperson for the comedian told TMZ.
'Out of the 50 shows on the tour, Thursday was definitely not his best set,' the representative explained.
'On the flip side, the incident inspired some additional sharp-witted material and (Friday) he came back with a vengeance.'

Many attendees flooded the venue's Facebook page with requests for refunds, of which ticket costs are believed to range from $50 to $200.
An upset ticket holder commented on Facebook: 'Horrible don't go. Second show last night was ridiculous. Walked out. Did not get what I paid for..... refunds please!'
And another wrote: 'Can we get a refund lol was at the 2nd show and he was wasted lol crowd wouldn't shut the f*** up.'
Yet, his act won over a fan who called the performance 'spectacular' and described his delivery as 'freestyle.'
He explained: 'Crowd interaction was great. Someone wud yell something and he wud make it a joke. #funny..i understand some ppl were frustrated with the flow of show but all the stuff he was saying was funny. Ppl need to lighten up.' (SIC)
