'Everyone thought I was desperate to be on the show': Kelly Brook talks Britain's Got Talent axe... as she accuses Simon Cowell of being 'disrespectful'

She was sensationally dropped as the fourth judge on Britain’s Got Talent after just six days in 2009.

And now, Kelly Brook has accused Simon Cowell of being ‘disrespectful’ during her short-lived tenure on the panel and insists she was glad to leave.

Speaking to the Sunday People, the British model explained: 'He'd just rock up whenever he wanted to, it was his party and he did what he wanted... It was a joke, it was so disrespectful to me, Amanda [Holden] and Piers [Morgan].

'I've always wanted to be an actress, not a judge on a reality show. So when Simon told me that was it, I was like "fine". I took my money and came back to America.'

‘Everyone thought I chased Simon, desperate to be on the show but that couldn’t be further from the truth,’ she added. ‘He called me the day before and asked if I’d do it.’

The 35-year-old star attended the first auditions for the third series in Manchester, but a few days later, Kelly received the call telling her she was dropped after the tapes were viewed.

At the time, Simon said he felt the format could not ‘support another judge’ and went on to say he would ‘never add a fourth judge to the panel.’

The hugely popular talent show has enjoyed continued success, with this year's panel line-up featuring Cowell, Holden, former Mis-Teeq rapper Alesha Dixon and Little Britain star David Walliams.

Meanwhile, Kelly has since relocated to Los Angeles and is currently starring in US television sitcom One Big Happy.

Commissioned by NBC for six episodes, the new comedy based drama has been produced by Ellen DeGeneres and co-stars Nick Zano as well as Elisha Cuthbert.

The series tells the story of a gay woman who is pregnant with her best friend’s baby.
