Ryan gas guzzling Gosling broods at the pump as he fuels SUV in Los Angeles

Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling was spotted going incognito on Saturday, as he covered his head with a baseball cap and a hood.

Perhaps it was because the 34-year-old was busy filling his less than eco-friendly SUV at the time, on an outing in Los Angeles.

The star - currently busy filming upcoming drama The Big Short - looked glum as he waited for his tank to fill.

Ryan bundled up in a loose-fitting gray hooded sweatshirt, for which he wore the hood pulled up over his head.

The Crazy, Stupid, Love star coupled that with a brown and pink plaid shirt, as well as a pair of fitted, dark wash jeans.

He finished off his look with a pair of worn boots, and was also seen wearing a red and gold baseball cap underneath his grey sweatshirt.

Ryan kept his hands in his pocket as he waited for his tank to fill, and sported noticeable scruff on his leading man face.

He looked downcast as he waited for his tank to fill, possibly because he has not recently been spotted with his stunning partner - actress Eva Mendes.

Work has likely kept him away from his seven-month daughter Esmeralda as well. However, on Saturday the star was spotted peering into his SUV's back window, suggesting he may have brought his bundle of joy along for the ride.

The star recently dyed his usual floppy dirty blonde locks to dark brown - although he may not be fond of the transformation, as he's often seen covering up in hats and hoods when he's spotted out in public in recent days.

The change was part of Ryan's transformation into slick haired businessman trader Greg Lippmann for his latest movie The Big Short.

His new movie is about the Deutsche Bank trader, who not only foresaw but bet against the housing and collateralized debt obligation (CDO) bubble that lead to the 2008 financial crash.

The film - which is directed by Anchorman's Adam McKay - has pulled big names including Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Beyonce.

It was also announced this week by Variety that Max Greenfield of New Girl - which was recently renewed for a fifth season - would be joining the cast.

Meanwhile, Ryan is currently in talks to star alongside Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2, which will take place 'several decades' after the 1982 film which had been set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles,Variety reports.

Harrison Ford - who played Rick Deckard in the original - is expected to reprise his role.

It is not yet known who Ryan will play in the new movie, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Depending on how Harrison will be featured in the project, his casting already proves interesting in light of two very different theories about his character.
