Weighing in! The Block's Deanne Jolly, 43, sheds 10kg as she's rumoured to be joining the Real Housewives Of Melbourne

Her assertive personality and desire to tell it straight has made her the one to watch on reality renovation show The Block.

And now it's rumoured that Deanne Jolly, 43, might be taking her straight talking style – and newly slimmed down physique – to Foxtel's Real Housewives Of Melbourne.

The wife of former footballer Darren Jolly has shed an incredible 10kg, after piling on the pounds following post natal depression and starring on The Block, reveals New Idea magazine.

'You comfort eat when you're not happy,' says the mother of two, speaking of the difficulties she faced after the birth of her daughter Lily.

'I saw a psychologist- I just did what I needed to do to get through it,'

The weight she gained was compounded by the busy schedule on The Block, with the star saying she found it difficult to find time to workout.

The turning point came when five foot, four inch, Dea saw photographs of herself in swimwear while on holiday in Noosa – she weighed 72kg (11 stone 4 pounds).

'I was mortified – I had no idea,' she said revealing it was at that moment she knew she needed to kick start a healthy eating plan.

Shunning her favoured carb-heavy meals of pasta, cheese and wine, the determined mother signed up with nutritionist Donna Aston and set about losing 10kg.

The timing couldn't be better with Dea also rumoured to be heading for a role on glitzy Real Housewives Of Melbourne, where appearances definitely matter.

The feisty renovator told TV Week: 'I'm pretty sure I'd be TV gold for them, because I'm certainly forthright and polarising.

'I love Chyka! I love all the Housewives shows actually, much to Darren's disgust!'

While it's not confirmed that Dea will star on the next series of the American franchise, there may be an opening with fan favourite Gina Liano revealing she's having doubts about signing on for a third series.

Last week the sassy barrister told Herald Sun that she was considering going back to her day job.

'I find it a bit degrading, I've never found myself in social situations like this before,' she said of the fiery showdowns that are the show's trademark.

Ready to quit? Gina Liano has hinted that she may not sign on for the next series on the American franchise, calling the show 'embarrassing'

'To have the whole world witnessing something I find quite disrespectful and hostile, it's confronting and a source of embarrassment.'

Throughout the first series she was the focus of most of the show's battles and as the second series really hit its stride last Sunday, Gina once again found herself in a screaming match – this time with Jackie Gillies.

Dea has recently signed on with celebrity agent Sean Anderson, whose clients include Jennifer Hawkins, Jodi Anasta and David Koch.

Anderson has denied rumours that Dea will star in the American franchise.
