Dr Who is going back in time... for a date with his ex: Matt Smith and Daisy Lowe enjoy lunch together in London

As the Doctor, he could travel to any point in time – and back again in an instant.

And now Matt Smith appears to be juggling the past and present in real life, too.

The actor turned back the clock by having lunch with former flame Daisy Lowe – despite still dating his current girlfriend.

He only recently confirmed his relationship with Downton Abbey star Lily James, 26, accompanying her to the premiere of her film Cinderella last month.

Smith, 32, the youngest person to play the Time Lord in the BBC's Doctor Who from 2009 to 2013, caught up with model Miss Lowe in Primrose Hill, London.

The pair, who split in 2011 after almost two years together, were clearly delighted to see one other. Miss Lowe, 26, could barely disguise her joy.

Time-warping skills might have come in handy a few years ago – Smith is said to have ended the relationship because their busy work schedules meant they struggled to spend quality time together. 

A spokesman for the actor declined to comment.
