She's just peachy! Giuliana Rancic shows off her slender figure in sleeveless coral number as she leads arrivals at the 42nd Daytime Emmy Awards

Giuliana Rancic kicked off the 42nd Daytime Emmy Awards with a very glamourous arrival on Sunday evening.

The 40-year-old television presenter flaunted her slender figure in a sleeveless coral number featuring a silver detailing while hitting the red carpet at the gala event.

Taking place at the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, California, the ceremony - which aired on Pop TV - saw a number of TV personalities, from talk show hosts to soap stars, walking the red carpet.

The E! host accessorised the look with silver jewellery including earrings, rings and bracelets while also holding onto a mirrored clutch. She also had her light brunette locks tied back in an elegant updo as she had natural, complimentary make-up on her face featuring light pink lip.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen may have been the most fashionable couple at the gala as they complimented each other in black and blue.

The 29-year-old model took the plunge a very low-cut black number featuring an attatched cape along with strappy black heels. Her brunette tresses were put up in a pompadour as she accessorised with dangling earrings, a bracelet and a black clutch.

Over 300 people and TV shows in the 2am to 6pm time range have been nominated this year by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Hit soap opera General Hospital leads the way with 28 nominations, while The Young And The Restless comes in a close second with 25 nominations.

In the talk show category, host Ellen DeGeneres has 10 nods against Steve Harvey of the Steve Harvey Show, and Live with Kelly and Michael's Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.

Tyra Banks is set to host the star-studded event while Betty White, 93, of The Golden Girls and Hot In Cleveland will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Banks said ahead of the night: 'I want to spice it up a bit. The great thing is the TV Academy wants to spice it up as well. I just want to have fun. I have a history of liking to poke fun at myself, so that's what we’re going to do. We're going to 'fierce-ify' the Emmys.'

The awards show is returning to TV after struggling to find a broadcast partner and an audience in recent years.

Waning interest in the ceremony resulted in many no-shows - most notably nominees and winners in the various morning and talk-show categories.

And this year there will be no red carpet pre-show, with Pop president Brad Schwartz explaining to TV Insider: 'We want to put our full focus and financial resources into the ceremony and produce the greatest damn Daytime Emmy show ever,'

'Next year, we'll invest in a pre-show. Right now, it's important to remind everyone just how great these awards can be and how they deserve wonderful treatment.'

Bob Mauro, President of NATAS said: 'This year's Daytime Emmy Awards is shaping up to be one of our most memorable events in our forty-two year history,'

'With a record number of entries this year, some 350 nominees, the glamour of the historic Warner Bros. Studios lot and the live broadcast on the new Pop network, this year promises to have more 'red carpet' then at any other time in our storied-past!'

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including categories such as art direction, sound mixing and make-up were dished out in a separate ceremony on Friday April 24 at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles.

David Michaels, Senior Vice President, Daytime, said: 'This year's Daytime Emmy Awards promises a cornucopia of thrills and surprises,'

'The broadcast on Pop at the iconic Warner Bros. Studios honoring not only the best in daytime television but the incomparable, indefatigable, Betty White, will be an event like nothing we've ever done before.'

The two-hour show will air on Pop 8pm ET/5pm PT.
