Is this the tackiest motor ever? Footballer El-Hadji Diouf shows off shiny gold Cadillac Escalade

It seems Blackburn Rovers' footballer El-Hadji Diouf has struck gold - but this time in the form or a souped-up motor.

The striker unveiled his latest 4x4 yesterday - a super shiny Cadillac Escalade - which he parked in a loading bay as he stepped out for lunch in Manchester.

It would have cost him in the region of £53,000 to buy, but the customised fittings and gold paint work would have no doubt upped the price considerably.

But the footballer, seen here in May, escaped a fine this time

The 28-year-old is already the proud owner of an impressive haul of motor cars, including a white Cadillac Escalade, a show-stopping chrome Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - a pinch at £420,000 - and a white BMW X6, to name but a few.

Complete with a 6.2litre engine and six-speed gear system, the four-wheel drive Escalade will certainly give the sportsman a smooth drive.

And with its stand out customised paintwork, the footballer can be sure to get noticed when driving it.

Yesterday, as he showcased the new motor, Diouf narrowly avoided getting a ticket after parking his prized possession in a loading bay.

A traffic warden spotted the offence - but was unable to issue a £70 fine because her hand-held computer was not working. Diouf was later seen laughing and smiling as he drove off.

He had spent about an hour in the San Carlo restaurant in Manchester city centre, favoured by celebrities, eating a seafood pizza with friends.

It is an offence to park in loading bays if you are not delivering goods.

A council spokesman told the Manchester Evening News: 'In the circumstances described to us, this vehicle should have received a Penalty Charge Notice for parking in this loading bay.

'In mitigation the officer's hand-held computer wasn't working and she was on the way back to base to obtain a replacement.

'Had the vehicle still been parked when she returned to this location at 2.50pm then a Penalty Charge Notice would have been issued.'

It is not the first time Senegal international Diouf has found himself in trouble on the roads.

He clearly has a love of shiny cars, and is the proud owner of this show-stopping chrome Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, a pinch at £420,000

In 2005, he Diouf left  his black Lincoln Navigator in a disabled parking bay while he went shopping for the afternoon in Manchester.

Arsenal defender William Gallas is also the proud owner of a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, just like Diouf.

And earlier this week Manchester City footballer Stephen Ireland splashed out on a £260,000 Bentley for his girlfriend Jessica Lawlor 's 24th birthday.

At least £1,000 was spent to change the Bentley's B winged insignia to Jessica's initals JL.

Then Ireland spent a further £2,000 on customised red leather seats with the romantic message 'To Jess Love From Stephen' stitched into them surrounded by a heart shape.

A further £5,000 went on modified bright red alloy wheels rims has Jessica's initials.
