Brad Pitt was left battered and bruised after falling over while running in flip flops last week.

But the 51-year-old actor cheered himself up with donuts during a sweet family outing with his six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Brad hid his injury behind dark sunglasses while stepping out in a hoodie jacket, T-shirt, loose-fitting sweat pants and sneakers.

The husband of actress and director Angelina Jolie balanced two boxes of sugary treats in one hand as he directed his kids back to their car.

Knox and Vivienne both held onto their Nesquick flavored milk drinks and they appeared to be in good spirits during the errand with their dad.

Later that night, Brad attended a charity event at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood that was hosted by actor Jack Black.

The Fight Club star's scratched eye was the talk of the event and he later revealed how it happened.

'Regardless, I wasn't going to miss the Autism Speaks benefit the night after - wonderful people and I was honored to be a part of this important event.'
