Celebrity Big Brother had its most 'explosive' series yet, at the start of this year.

But the Channel 5 reality TV show is perhaps about to get even more volatile after the advert for this summer's regular series revealed that the new theme is 'Timebomb'.

Presenters Emma Willis, 39, and Rylan Clark, 26, tease the return with a new 30-second insight into just what the housemates will have to endure in the new House.

Imitating chic spies as they try to uncover the mystery of fictional 'time-based disturbances' in London, the co-presenters discover that the BB HQ has been hit by a timebomb in the new ad.

Big Brother host Emma reveals that 'Days will turn into nights, time will stop, rewind and tasks will get turned on their heads' for the new contestants.

Meanwhile, a tweet from the Big Brother's official page said on Wednesday: 'Time may be a friend... or an enemy #BBUK'

Presenting duo return Emma and Rylan look more sharp than ever, kitted out in black and gold, as they prepare for the upcoming summer series.

Emma will reprise her role as host of the main programme, while Rylan will step back into his Big Brother's Bit On The Side shoes on Channel 5.

Last Wednesday, show bosses announced that a new creative director had been hired for the reality TV show, and he had some 'big ideas' in mind.

Denis O'Connor, previously the show's executive producer for three years, took up the role immediately last week and will work across Big Brother, Celebrity Brother and Big Brother's Bit On The Side.

Channel 5 also announced in March that it would be keeping the much-loved programme for another three years.

During the last series of the celebrity spin off, ratings were at an all-time high since the it moved from Channel 4.

Though it ran into criticism for race rows, sexism and foul language, and bosses were forced to intervene and remove two housemates who caused concern to the viewing public.

This year, Big Brother promises to be 'upbeat, glamourous, thrilling and mischievous' as tthe Housemates’ past, present and future will be taken into their hands.
