Tom Hanks means business on the set of the third Da Vinci Code movie Inferno as he takes a Venice water taxi with co-star Felicity Jones
It's a role he's become known for in the latter years of his career.
And Tom Hanks looked ready to reprise his role as Robert Langdon on the set of Dan Brown's Da Vinci code follow-up film, Inferno, on Wednesday in Venice.
The Hollywood icon was joined by his brand new co-star Felicity Jones on the set for the second day of filming as they took a water taxi in the city.

New duo: The Theory Of Everything actress looked serious as she took to the set on Wednesday
Tom and his Theory Of Everything co-star meant business as they took an elegant boat out onto one of the city's water ways.
Hanks covered up a scar on his hairline, which he'd been seen nursing on the first day of filming during on of Inferno's action scenes.
Later on Wednesday, the actors were seen shooting scenes in the Italian city's Saint Mark's Square alongside the film's director Ron Howard.

On location: The cast and crew took filming to Italy, where they enjoyed sunnier climates

The iconic director appeared to be giving the duo tips as they stood atop an old balcony, overlooking the piazza below.
Tom, 58, and Felicity, 31, looked focused on the task at hand as they worked on their characters for the next installment in the popular movie franchise.
But Tom - who has appeared as Professor Langdon in the first two films, The Da Vinci Code and Angels And Demons - seemed to take a moment to take pictures on his phone of the beautiful city around him.

Both actors donned simple looks for their on-screen moments - Tom wearing a classic navy blue suit, and a slightly dishevelled Felicity in trousers and a blue trench coat.
Also pictured on location on Tuesday was French actor Omar Sy, who is taking on the role of Christoph Bruder, the Head of the SRS team (part of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) in the action-packed flick.
Tom's appearance was a far cry from how he looked on the first day of filming on Monday: the actor had emerged on location in the city, his head covered in fake blood.

In Inferno, Robert, a Harvard professor, wakes up in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with no memory of what has occurred for the last few days, but suddenly finds himself the target of a manhunt.
Felicity joins the franchise as Sienna Brooks, a doctor who helps Langdon to try escape capture as well as solve the most intricate riddle he's ever faced.
This is the British actress' first big role after winning an Oscar nomination for her role in The Theory Of Everything.

The director will be hoping to match the success of the first film which grossed $224 million in its opening weekend in 2006.

Earlier this month Tom's wife Rita, who married the two-time Oscar-winner in 1988, revealed she'd undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
The 58-year-old actress, who took a leave of absence from Broadway play 'Fish in the Dark', had her first test for cancer come back negative but was then correctly diagnosed after seeking a second opinion and underwent the procedure this month.
Inferno is scheduled for released in October 2016.
