Kendall Jenner was trying to do some good, but it was her Calvins that got all the attention.

The 19-year-old model posed in a pair of jeans while sitting on her bed as her Calvin Klein underwear peeked out in an Instagram snap - a move Justin Bieber would have made. The singer and the daughter of Bruce and Kris Jenner are both spokespeople for the brand.

But the whole point of her post was to promote Denim Day, which aims to educate people about sexual violence prevention.

Denim Day took place on Wednesday but by Thursday images were still being shared.

Hundreds of women participated in the campaign on Instagram, from models to celebrities to everyday people.

On the Denim Day website, it explained clearly what the message was all about.

'For the past 16 years, Peace Over Violence has run its Denim Day campaign on a Wednesday in April in honor of Sexual Violence Awareness Month,' started the explanation on the site.

'The campaign was originally triggered by a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans, thereby implying consent.'

It was added, 'The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim. Peace Over Violence developed the Denim Day campaign in response to this case and the activism surrounding it.'

Jenner did not write much in her caption, preferring to only use the hashtag DenimDay which linked to the campaign's main Instagram page.

None of her sisters participated publicly.
