Britney Spears shares snap of injured ankle in cast after postponing TWO Vegas shows following on stage tumble (and jokes 'this boot was made for walkin')

Britney Spears took to Instagram on Friday to update fans on her ankle injury and shared a photo of her left foot and ankle in a cast.

The Toxic singer, 33, pulled a face as she posed in the big black boot wearing a t-shirt and short shorts and made a walking symbol with two fingers on her right hand.

'This boot was made for walkin',' she wrote along side the snap taken in a bathroom.

Britney has done her Piece Of Me show hundreds of times without so much as a slip.

But her lucky streak ran out on Wednesday evening as the blonde bombshell twisted her ankle while dancing onstage at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

The pop star was jumping around while singing the 1999 hit (You Drive Me) Crazy.

Dressed in a black jeweled leotard with wearing black fishnets, the mother of two looked toned and trimmed during her show.

But it was her three inch boots that did her in.

The singer has just finished her dance routine with several scantily clad women, and a handful of men, when she decided to introduce some of the performers behind her.

After that she danced on her own, freestyle, and looked to be having fun.

Spears seemed to really get into the music as she jumped up and down, hopping on one foot at a time.

She looked like a pro just having a good time, when she landed on one of her feet the wrong way.

The ex-wife of Kevin Federline fell to the ground quickly and sat there for a while, bringing her legs together as if she knew she was in trouble.

The Oops!... I Did It Again songbird then is seen rubbing her ankle.

She is not seen standing up again in the YouTube video as the clip ends abruptly.

When not dancing in Vegas, Spears spends her time in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles with her sons Sean Preston, aged nine, and Jayden James, aged eight, as well as her boyfriend Charlie Ebersol, 32.
