This doesn't look like a job for Superman! Henry Cavill steers a £50 million ferry on his way home to Jersey

He's a Hollywood star filling the role of arguably the most super hero in the world.

But Henry Cavill had a go at seafaring on Wednesday during a ferry trip from Poole to his home island of Jersey.

Wearing a green fleece and a strong beard, Henry certainly looked like he had the concentration of Superman as he navigated his way across the Channel.

He was steering Condor's new state-of-the-art Liberation ferry briefly during the four-and-a-half hour crossing.

He was returning Jersey for the annual rugby tournament - the Siam Cup - where the actor will be representing the Durrell Conservation Trust, a global conservation charity, at the event.

A spokesman from Condor Ferries said: 'Henry is a special guest at the Jersey Rugby Club's Ipes Siam Club clash with Guernsey on Saturday.

'He is an ambassador for Durrell, which is holding a fundraising day to coincide with the Siam Cup.'

Henry recently spoke about the upcoming Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice fil which sees his Man of Steel try to bring down Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader.

The first trailer from the film was recently released, which shows that the plot seems heavily influenced by Frank Miller's comic book series The Dark knight Returns.

'I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel,' Cavill tells Empire. 'This is Batman versus Superman, so it's a separate entity altogether.

'It's introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon the universe that was kicked off by Man Of Steel. So yeah, watch the space. See how it turns out. Again, everything can change in the editing room. But, as it stands, it's definitely an introduction of the Batman character and, ultimately, the introduction of the Justice League films.'

Suicide Squad - the film that follows a band of DC Comic villains as they carry out off-the-books missions for the government - will be released before Batman V Superman, and Affleck has been on the set in Toronto this week.

Cavill doesn't seem to be making an appearance as Superman but he will have a stand-alone film by 2020

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is in UK cinemas on March 25, 2016
