Sazdovski: “It was an honor to be part of the Vardar family for two seasons”
The Macedonian national player Ivana Sazdovski, who was part of Vardar in the last 2 seasons, will play for the German team of Koblenz/Weibern starting from next season. In the last 2 seasons she won the Macedonian championship title with Vardar SCBT and this season as the leader of ZRK Vardar (the team of Ace Stankovski which secured placement in the European cups) she won the 3rd place in the Skopje Super League.
Although she will not wear the “red-black“ jersey anymore, she is more than satisfied with the time spent in Vardar and she hopes that the club will continue to improve and reach the European top.
“I can not leave the environment and the team for which I played in the past 2 seasons without thanking for the excellent moments. With the coming of the new sponsor, Vardar turned into a top European handball club which reached the final tournament in Budapest this year. That was a result of the excellent players that reinforced Vardar SCBT at the start of the season, but also of the great working conditions within the team. I am happy and thankful for being able to be part of the Vardar family in the past 2 seasons.“
In future, Sazdovski will prove her qualities in one of the strongest European championships – the Bundesliga. She signed a one-year contract with the team of Koblenz/Weibern.
“Next season I will play in the Bundesliga, after signing a contract with Koblenz/Weibern a while ago. I was really fascinated when I found out that I will have the chance to play in one of the strongest European championships. New challenges are ahead of me there; a new environment, and of what I had the chance to see until now, I expect to adjust well. The team is strong and composed of quality players that play fast and dynamic handball, which I personally like. I expect an excellent season with my new team, which goal for the next season is securing placement in one of the European cups.”
The 24-year old Macedonian national player is part of the team that has been preparing for the upcoming qualification matches against Germany for placement on the EC in Hungary and Croatia.
“Now we are in the final preparation phase for the qualification matches against Germany for placement on the EC in Hungary and Croatia. We work hard, we finished the physical endurance phase, and now we work on the technical-tactical part. I expect from every player to give her best. The Germans are the favorites in this match, but with a focused game and without pressure, I think we can give a dignified resistance. The national team is very young, and bigger results should be expected in future. A lot of effort, patience, sacrifice and time is needed to see the true possibilities of this team“ - ended Sazdovski.
