Top bombing! Prankster makes a splash when he bypasses security to interrupt diving event by jumping off 10metre board (but the crowd weren't impressed)

  • Dan Jarvis, 26, jumped from diving platform at the London Aquatics Centre
  • He rushed past a security guard and stripped down to a pair of Speedos
  • Caused further delay when his house keys had to be fetched from pool
  • Jarvis, who is part of a prankster group, fined £90 under Public Order Act

There were no marks for technical excellence but he certainly got ten out ten for cheek.

Not that that pleased the crowd at the London Aquatics Centre. They booed prankster Dan Jarvis after he disrupted the FINA Diving World Series, where Tom Daley was competing, by jumping from a 10metre board.

Jarvis, a student, from Gravesend, Kent, rushed past a security guard and tore off his clothes as he climbed the steps to the board.

Stripped down to a pair of Speedos, the 26-year-old tried to hold his nose in the seconds before he crashed into the pool.

The prank was met with perplexed looks from the judges, as he was bundled out of the arena by security.

He then caused a further delay to the diving championships because he had dropped his house keys in the pool and they had to be retrieved.

Jarvis, who is part of an online prankster group, Troll Station, which puts its stunts on You Tube, was fined £90 under the Public Order Act.

Following the prank, the intruder quipped: 'It was just a bit of fun. The guy who was getting ready to dive on the top board was laughing at me.'

Olympic bronze medallist Daley later won the men's 10metre platform dive in the event.

The 20-year-old from Plymouth scored 554.05 points for his six dives to win by 53.30 points from China's Yang Jian and 47.45 from Qiu Bo.

He wrote on Instagram: 'So happy to come away with the Gold at the World Series here in London in front of a home crowd! So much fun!'

Daley led after each of his six dives in a performance which bodes well for the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, later this year and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
