1. USE A TOOTHBRUSH TO TAME FRIZZ

Want to smooth your locks without spritzing it into a crisp? An old toothbrush will come in handy. Just spray some hairspray over it and brush it over your roots to tame pesky flyaways. That way, hair will be smooth and glossy without that stiff crisp effect.

2. APPLY DRY SHAMPOO THE NIGHT BEFORE

If you're too lazy to wash your hair but anticipate it may be greasy by morning, apply dry shampoo before you hop into bed. You hair produces oil whilst you sleep so using dry shampoo the night before absorbs the oil and leaves hair fresh come morning. Plus, you won't be left with the dreaded white roots.

3. SPRITZ HAIRSPRAY ONTO BOBBY PINS

Bobby pins are hair saviours - but not when they won't stay in place. If you've got freshly-washed hair and the pins won't hold, spread them onto a towel and spritz hairspray over them. When you use them in your hair, they won't slip out of place.

Applying dry shampoo onto your roots the night before rather than in the morning will leave you with fresh, white patch-free hair come morning

 4. CURL YOUR HAIR WITH FOIL

If your curls won't hold and you get into a tangle with tongs, foil from your kitchen may help. Divide your hair into sections and curl each one around your finger, then fold a square of foil over that segment. Use your hairdryer to blast each section, wait for the foil to cool down and then remove it to reveal perfect curls.

5. BLAST HAIR WITH COOL AIR

Before blowdrying your hair, spritz some hairspray onto a barrel brush and smooth over locks to tame flyaways

When you've finished styling your locks, switch your hairdryer to the cool setting and blast it over your head. The change in temperature will smooth hair and tame frizz, whilst also helping your style to set.

6. USE YOUR HANDS MORE

Rather than just aimlessly spraying hairspray onto locks, spritz it onto your fingers instead and use them to create volume.

7. CURL WITH SOCKS

As bizarre as it may sound, socks can create perfect curls. Just cut one in half and roll a thin strand of your hair around the sock, then tie it at the top. Repeat on around ten more strands and leave in for half an hour. Remove the socks to reveal perfect waves.

8. CREATE A VOLUMISING BUN

Ladies with flat hair will love this simple trick. Simply spritz hair with some volumising spray and pile your wet locks into a bun before bed. When you wake up in the morning, undo the bun to reveal bouncy hair.

9. TRY THE DOUBLE PONY TRICK

If you've got thin, lackluster locks, try out two ponytails. Tie one below the other and it will create the illusion of thicker hair.

10. HAIRSPRAY YOUR BRUSH

Before blowdrying your hair, spritz some hairspray onto a barrel brush. This will prevent flyaways and help keep hair looking sleek.
