She is always one to surprise her fans when hitting a red carpet - think of the 2000 Grammy Awards when she wore that plunging green gown.

And Jennifer Lopez did not disappoint for the 2015 Met Gala in New York City, which was titled China: Through The Looking Glass. The Bronx beauty wore a ruby colored Versace gown that had a big hole on the side, exposing her naked hip.

The 45-year-old American Idol judge also showed off a new teardrop diamond ring on her wedding finger that may have been from her on-again beau Casper Smart, 28, who she is rumoured to be engaged to.

Mother of Dragons! JLo in a Va-va-voom Versace

When you've got a song dedicated to your Booty, you know J.Lo was going to bring out all the big guns for the Met Gala. She didn't disappoint when she showed up in a asset showing Versace gown with extreme mesh panels.

The red jeweled, one shoulder number was still a head turner in a red carpet full of sheers. The simple fan-shaped jewelry and matching clutch all gave a nod to the chinoise theme but it was the way the embellishments covered just all the right parts, we felt she was a fire breathing dragon.

The Selena actress has been working with designer Zuhair Murad on a spectacular, customized gown that will be as impressive as the event itself.

'Her dress alone will cost $500,000,' an insider revealed to the weekly. 'It will be figure-hugging and she wants it to be white, with a traditional veil.'

'It will be family-oriented, too, with Emme as flower girl and Max as ring bearer,' the source said of her seven-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
