Model behavior! Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss leave their boyfriends behind to hit the Met Gala red carpet together... as they lead the supermodel invasion of the Met Gala
- Gigi, 20, and Karlie, 22, partied at the star-studded event
- Joined models Adriana Lima, Cara Delevingne and Karolina Kurkova
- Genetically-blessed models added some glamour to event
Models Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss took the night off from their respective boyfriends to attend this year's glittering Met Gala together.
Guess campaign star Gigi, 20, left boyfriend Cody Simpson at home and hit the red carpet at the star-studded event wearing a stunning custom-made Diane von Furstenberg dress in a bright crimson shade, which featured a low-cut neckline and a thigh-high split.
Meanwhile Karlie, 22, who is currently dating businessman Joshua Kushner, wore a black ensemble taken straight from Versace's spring/summer 2015 catwalk collection.
And the genetically-blessed duo weren't the only supermodels to add some glamour to the Met Gala red carpet.

Best buds: Gigi Hadid (R) and Karlie Kloss (L) attended Monday night's Met Gala together
Fashion's elite: The catwalk stars hit the red carpet arm-in-arm, with Karlie, 22, showing off her figure in a black Versace gown while Gigi, 20, opted for a red design by Diane von Furstenberg
Karlie's dress also featured a sheer lace train, which she had fastened to her finger to keep it up and out of the way while she made her way down the red carpet.
The fashion stars both accessorized their ensembles with coordinating heels; Karlie wore a pair of simple, black, pointed-toe heels, while Gigi opted for a pair of strappy red heeled sandals.
Gigi and Karlie both chose to keep their jewelry to a minimum, opting for statement earrings, but keeping their necklines and wrists mostly bare.
Similarly, the catwalk icons both chose to wear their blonde locks down in loose waves around their shoulders, with Gigi showing off some seriously lengthy tresses that cascaded down her back to her waist.
Red hot: The Guess campaign star left boyfriend Cody Simpson at home for the evening to attend the star-studded event in a plunging red gown, which also featured a thigh-high split
Set your look on fire with a plunging red dress like Gigi
For this year' Met Gala some ensembles were classic, some were quirky, and some were downright bizarre. But Gigi Hadid decided to turn up the sex appeal when she chose this dress by Diane von Furstenberg.
The scarlet gown had a dangerously plunging neckline and thigh high split which the supermodel chose to team with a pair a strappy heels. Her tousled waves completed the bombshell look.
We adore the embroidered bodice and figure hugging silhouette that DVF designed, but then we wouldn't expect anything less from the woman who invented the wrap dress.
Suit up in one of the ruby numbers we've curated below to make Gigi's look your own. This is one hot hue that never goes out of style!
In train-ing: While Karlie's gown did feature a long lace train, she opted to keep it out of her way by hooking it onto her finger with a ring
Blonde bombshell: Karlie kept her hairstyle simple, wearing her tresses in loose waves around her face
Ahead of the evening's event, the girls took the time to snap a candid selfie in the back of their car while on their way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the Met Gala took place.
Posted on Karlie's Instagram account, the picture was captioned: 'Hitched a ride to the #MetGala with this gorgeous gal @gigihadid #CarpoolLane [sic]'
The picture will no doubt be one of the few taken by the pair however, thanks to a social media and selfie ban which was reportedly enforced at the event, at the request of Vogue Editor-in-Chief and Met Gala chair Anna Wintour.
According to Page Six, all attendees of this year's event received notice upon arrival that 'the use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted' throughout the event, a controversial ban which is believed to have come as a result of Ms Wintour's personal dislike of the personal portraits.
Carpool! The duo traveled to the event together, pausing to take a selfie in the back of the car
As well as Gigi and Karlie, the Met Gala red carpet also played host to a number of other runway stars, including Victoria's Secret favorites Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova.
Unlike blonde bombshells Gigi and Karlie, Adriana, 33, opted for a gothic-inspired look, showcasing an incredibly dark hairstyle, deep smokey eyes and a dark red wine-stained lip.
The lingerie model matched her lip shade to her burgundy embellished Marc Jacobs dress, which featured a beautiful beaded design, and helped to add a dramatic flare to the otherwise-simple cut.
Adriana accessorized the gown with matching deep red jewels, including a large cocktail ring, and a pair of simple, but elegant, earrings.
Red carpet pro: Adriana Lima also made an appearance at the star-studded event, wearing a beautiful burgundy Marc Jacobs design
All black everything: Cara Delevingne looked chic in all black with added body art as she took to the red carpet at the event
Glam squad: Adriana, 33, shared an image of herself getting ready for the event on her Instagram account
Earlier in the day, Adriana shared a number of images of her pre-Met Gala pampering preparations, including one picture of herself seated in a chair while having her hair and make-up done simultaneously.
The Brazilian-born model paid tribute to her glam squad in the caption saying: 'Getting ready for tonight / Me preparando para o evento de hoje à noite #metgala #metball #chinalookingglass with @morgane_martini and @anthonycristianosalon @esantoslima [sic]'
Meanwhile Karolina, 31, opted for a much brighter, and much shorter, red design by American fashion label Tommy Hilfiger.
The dress featured a high neck and collar, embellished with the same gold-thread, Chinese style embroidery featured through the design, on the waistband, and the cuffs.
Tommy's girl: Karolina Kurkova attended the Met Gala in the thigh-skimming design by Tommy Hilfiger
The Czech model accessorized the short, long-sleeved design with a unique Judith Lieber dragon-shaped clutch, which was clearly in keeping with the event's Chinese-inspired theme.
She added a pair of decadent-looking red and gold sandals, which finished off the look perfectly, and helped to showcase her long legs.
Ahead of her arrival at the Met Gala, Karolina revealed that she had had her pick from not one, but three pairs of custom made heels by fashion label Giuseppe Zanotti.
According to an image posted to her Instagram account just hours before she was due to leave for the event, Karolina could have also opted for a pair of knee-high strappy red sandals, or a coordinating gold pair in the same style.
Blue velvet: Behati Prinsloo donned a navy Tommy Hilfiger gown, which featured mesh cut-outs and a backless design
Red alert: Jourdan Dunn looked ravishing in red Burberry and showcased her lithe limbs in the cut-away dress
Super selfie: Behati snapped this photo of herself posing with her fellow models at the Met Gala Monday night on Instagram, writing: 'This is everything #METgala [sic]'
And Behati Prinsloo flaunted her curves in a figure-hugging navy blue velvet gown featuring panels and mesh cut-outs designed by Tommy Hilfiger.
The 25-year-old Victoria's Secret model wore her hair parted in the center and slicked back into a simple updo to show off the backless design of her dress.
She accessorized her look with dangling earrings and a thin choker worn around her neck.
Golden girl: Candice Swanepoel stunned in gold lace Michael Kors gown, which she paired with diamond accessories and a matching gold clutch
Girls just want to have fun: Victoria's Secret models Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo lark around on the red carpet
Interesting accessory: Lily Aldridge wore a light blue ruffled gown by Carolina Herrera. She accessorized her look with a jeweled clutch shaped like a fish
Later that night, Behati snapped a selfie with a slew of other models, including Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski.
Victoria's Secret Angels Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge were also among the attendees.
While 26-year-old Candice wore a gold lace Michael Kors gown, 29-year-old Lily donned a light blue ruffled gown by Carolina Herrera.
Both models wore their hair parted to the side and pulled back to show off their glamorous ensembles.
Kisses for fishes: Victoria's Secret Angel Lily Aldridge was among the attendees and looked serene in an off-blue gown
