For the weeks leading up to the show's eagerly-anticipated opening, fans were quick to theorise about the tracks that'd be included in the set-list.

The concert opened with Welcome to New York, before crashing into New Romantics, Blank Space and her smash-hit I Knew You Were Trouble.

She then performed I Wish You Would, How You Get the Girl, I Know Places, All You Had to Do Was Stay and You Are in Love, before tackling Clean, Love Story, Style, This Love and Bad Blood.

Capping the set-list with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Enchanted/Wildest Dreams and Out of the Woods, she delivered Shake It Off as her encore.

Wearing a purple skirt with a sparkly crop top with diamond-encrusted jacket, she completed her incandescent appearance with matching ankle boots.

Flanked by a group of male backing dancers, she soon removed the coat for maximum exposure - which included two cut-out panels in her bra top.

Just 24 hours earlier and Taylor was mobbed by fans at Narita Airport. She took to Instagram to capture the chaos, jokingly writing: 'A very low key arrival in Tokyo...' alongside a photo of the sea of fans that clogged the airport.

TMZ reported that the throng of fans waiting for a glimpse of Taylor actually disrupted flight schedules, noting: 'We've seen people at Narita Airport fan out before, but apparently this one was too much. People on scene say at least 2 arrivals were delayed because of airport congestion ... the result of Taylor's immense popularity.'

Pictures show the 1989 hitmaker almost completely surrounded by fans - with wide shots showing just how frighteningly far back the crowd actually goes - as her security team tries desperately to keep them at bay.

Fans have long been looking forward to the star's upcoming tour, since 1989 was released in October with the unbelievably impressive debut of 1.287 million copies sold in its first week, the most since Eminem's The Eminem Show in 2002.

And it seems they won't be disappointed. as speaking to TIME magazine, Taylor explained her thought process behind the over-the-top tour: 'I really like for there to be something theatrical about what we do on stage.'

'When I was younger, I was just obsessed with Broadway shows. As much as I can show these audiences an element of that theatrical nature to a performance, I think that it allows them to escape from their lives a little bit more.'

The tour is set to be her biggest yet, running all the way to December when she completes the concerts in Australia.
