She had to start somewhere! Naomi Watts' '80s tampon ad is unearthed showing the actress fresh-faced and with huge hair

She's one of Australia's biggest acting exports and has won multiple awards, but Naomi Watts' career began like many other actresses- in TV commercials.

The 46-year-old starred in a Tampax commercial that aired in Australia during the 80's when she was about 18-years-old.

At the time, the actress sported short but voluminous hair and is heard saying: 'Growing up, life's just one big struggle.'

The video shows a montage of the actress dealing with an annoying younger brother, a pimple and her figure.

She's seen towel drying her short locks as she tells the camera about the product adding: 'It really is the no hassles tampon,' with a big smile.

Naomi is then seen having fun with friends while sporting an oversized blue blazer with shoulder padding.

'Life's simply less of a hassle with Tampax,' she says happily.

The actress is on break from filming her latest role for the film Shut In, shot in Canada.

The indie horror sees Naomi take on the role of a widowed child psychologist forced to rescue a young boy as violent winter weather rocks the country.
