But Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy certainly seem to still be on good terms despite the split.

The actress and frontman of Muse, both 36, were seen on a friendly stroll in the Tribeca neighbourhood of New York City on Wednesday.

The two reportedly had breakfast together at hotspot Bubby's before enjoying the walk together as the Almost famous star sipped on a drink in a white ceramic coffee cup.

Kate and Matthew definitely seemed to have a cordial relationship as they chatted it up and even exchanged smiles during the conversation.

The daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson was dressed comfortably on the outing as she wore a blue and white large checked top tucked into skinny blue jeans and a pair of Ipanema flip flops.

Her romance with Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy came to end last December, but that doesn’t mean Kate Hudson can’t keep her former flame in check.

The stylish actress sported a plaid shirt by casual brand to the stars, Rails, with a pair of off-duty skinny jeans and flip flops for an NYC stroll with her ex.

She did show her style as she donned a pair of circular-shaped designer shades over her face as she had no visible hint of make-up on her face.

The Oscar nominee - clutching her ullu iPhone case - also had her signature blonde locks up in a messy bun as she enjoyed her hot beverage on the outing with her former fiancé.

Matthew also went casual in a plain grey top over grey patterned trousers and black slip-on leather boots.

The Resistance hitmaker had his short brown locks elegantly dishevelled for the occasion and sported a bit of scruff on his face.

Not seen on the outing was their three-year-old son together named Bingham. Kate also has a ten-year-old son from a previous marriage to musician Chris Robinson.

Speaking for the first time about the split in March 2015, Kate insisted that she, her son and her son's father would remain a family.

When the split was confirmed in December 2014 (some months after it is thought to have taken place), it was clear that the duo would maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship for the sake of their son, too.

A representative told People at the time: 'Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents.'

Matt and Kate started dating in summer 2010, though the actress fell pregnant with Bingham just two months into their relationship. They announced their engagement in April 2011, before he was born but called off their relationship before they made it up the aisle.

The Muse musician has recently been linked to model Elle Evans, who starred in the Robin Thicke and Pharrell video for Blurred Lines. They were spotted enjoying the Coachella music festival together in Indio, California last month.
