Who WILL marry Harry? Prince's ex-girlfriends Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy top bookies' list... and Pippa Middleton is also in with a chance

  • Ladbrokes have offered odds of 12/1 on Harry wedding Cressida Bonas
  • First love Chelsy Davy, now a high-flying lawyer, is also in the running
  • Prince is on an official tour of Australia after month-long Army deployment
  • Harry told Australian reporter: 'Of course I would love to have kids'

In a list of the world's most eligible bachelors, Prince Harry would certainly be somewhere near the top.

So when the fair-haired royal, now fifth in line to the throne, spoke yesterday about his desire to share his life with someone, a million or more ears pricked up around the globe.

While on an official tour of Australia and New Zealand, following a month-long army deployment there down under, Harry hinted that he might be ready to bid farewell to life as a single man, saying he would 'love to settle down... and have kids'.

And according to the nation's bookmakers, Harry might yet take a leaf out of brother William's book and make an old flame his bride.

William and Kate, now the proud parents of George and newborn Charlotte, had their own rocky patch back in 2007 after four years together. However, the now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were back together again before the year was out.

Ladbrokes have put Harry's most recent serious girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, 26, at the top of a list of potential princesses with odds of marriage to Harry at 12/1. The couple dated for two years before parting ways in 2014.

Since Harry and Cressida parted company, the aspiring actress has barely sat still, having bagged herself a modelling contract with Mulberry and starring in a West End stage play.

Calling herself a 'strong independent woman' and a 'lion' when it comes to protecting those that she loves, she seems to be firmly focused on her career.

Earlier this year, she told The Times: 'I hope the focus is becoming more about the skills I have,' referring almost certainly to her time spent being known as little more than Harry's girl.

It's thought the pressures of becoming part of the Royal Family put a strain on Cressida's relationship with Harry. She has long dreamed of becoming an actress and wanted to pursue her career freely

The chances of the 30-year-old prince reigniting passions with his first love, Zimbabwean lawyer Chelsy Davy, are also reasonably high say the bookmakers, who've put odds of 33/1 on the pair walking down the aisle.

The true fairy tale pairing would be with his sister-in-law's own sister and bookies have listed the odds of Harry tying the knot with Pippa Middleton at 66/1.

More outlandish bets include a 500/1 long shot on mother-of-five Katie Price and 1000/1 on Josie Cunningham - the woman who has been branded Britain’s biggest scrounger for having breast augmentation on the NHS.

Another bookmakers, Betway, have shortened the odds on a royal wedding this year to just 20/1 while chances of a 2018 wedding or later look very high, with odds of 1/2.

The prince's tour Down Under has seen him inundated with offers.

When Victoria McRae, 21, held up a sign with the words 'Marry Me Prince Harry, Last Chance', the handsome royal quipped 'Can I think about it?'

The prince yesterday admitted in an interview with Sky News that he's at a crossroads in his life. Speaking on Stewart Island, just off the New Zealand coast, he said:

'There come times when you think now is the time to settle down, or now is not, whatever way it is, but I don't think you can force these things, it will happen when it's going to happen,' he said.

'Of course I would love to have kids right now but there's a process that one has to go through, and tours like this are great fun.

'Hopefully I'm doing all right by myself – it would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure, but you know, time will come and whatever happens, happens.'

Of his decision to quit the military, the wisdom of which has been questioned by some royal commentators, Harry said he was finding it increasingly difficult to juggle his royal role with his commitment to the Army.

Harry announced earlier this year that would be quitting the military after a decade and two frontline deployments in Afghanistan.

But he asked the British people to 'trust' his decision and insisted he wanted to make 'everyone proud'.
