A father and son were forced to declare an emergency and bring their light aircraft down on its belly after its landing gear failed to deploy. The Luton-based budget airline announced all of its new and existing A320s will have an additional row from next year, bringing the seat count to 186 from 180. But easyJet insists the additional row will not lead to less room for passengers, with a spokeswoman telling MailOnline Travel the 'passenger experience and personal space will be improved' by new ergonomically-designed seats.

The pyramids at Meroë, some 125 miles north of Sudan's capital, Khartoum, are rarely visited despite being a Unesco World Heritage site. The site, known as the Island of Meroë because an ancient, long-dried river ran around it, once served as the principle residence of the rulers of the Kush kingdom - one of the earliest civilisations in the Nile region - who were known as the Black Pharaohs.

The two main aspects of his work involve moving the boarding doors to the centre of the plane, where the aisle will be at its widest point, before narrowing as it runs to each end of the plane.

The Into The Glacier experience will let visitors plunge into the heart of Europe's second-largest glacier in Iceland. The unusual attraction was the brainchild of two adventure tour operators, who used experts to dig the man-mad cave, complete with different chambers holding exhibitions and even a cafe. But the highlight is the deep blue underground chapel.
