When the going gets tough, the tough clearly reach for their bikinis.

Well at least they do in Nicole Murphy's case with the beauty hitting the beach in Miami, Florida, on Thursday.

The 47-year-old let her troubles roll away like the tide as she posed up for a beach bikini shot.

While the ex of Eddie Murphy had a big smile on her face, she was no doubt trying to distract herself as the man accused of defrauding her out of more than $7 million is facing trial two years after he is arrested.

Nicole is expected to testify against Troy Stratos who, according to the Sacramento Bee, claimed the model was his first girlfriend and she had reached out to him ti help her with her money after she and Eddie divorced.

Despite this, Nicole must have put the unpleasantness to the back of her mind in order to be at the top of her game for the Mimi photo shoot.

Walking out from the azure Miami water, the socialite wrapped the wet sarong around her waist and posed for some more pictures.

Obviously Nicole was not planning on going for a full dip, as she also accessorised her bikini look with multiple long gold chain necklaces and one of her arms was weighed down with a stack of bangles.

The dedicated gym goer made sure to show off her hard worked for physique in a myriad of poses.

Nicole - who split with fiance Michael Strahan last year - first utilised a lifeguard tower's stairs to do some classic poses which really showed off her muscular thighs.

The veteran model really turned it up a notch however, when she used the lifeguard tower's beams to hoist herself up on to and pose seductively on.

According to the FBI, Nicole was defrauded by friend Troy Stratos, who also stands accused of fraudulently taking $11 million from someone else to buy fake Facebook shares.

The FBI claims the 49-year-old opened a trust with Nicole using the money and property she had got from her 2006 divorce from Eddie to invest internationally.

Troy then allegedly diverted some of the funds into his own accounts and also used then to pay for Nicole's expenses while they were in Europe claiming he was paying for her.

In an FBI statement, it is alleged: 'Stratos claimed that he could sell her Granite Bay house to Middle Eastern royal families but needed to lease luxury automobiles to make the property more enticing. In fact, Stratos lived in the house and made use of the automobiles.'

According to the Sacramento Bee, Troy also claimed to have introduced Nicole to Eddie and often told people he had connections in the entertainment industry, was a film producer and even had enough clout to get President Obama to attend the event.

The self-described entertainment entrepreneur is charged with three counts of mail fraud, 12 counts of wire fraud, four counts of money laundering, and one count of obstruction of justice.
