Beyonce smiles as she leaves New York club after husband Jay Z's attack on critics of their Tidal streaming service

  • Show was second of two private NY gigs laid on for Tidal subscribers
  • On Saturday Jay Z launched a verbal tirade during the show at Terminal 5
  • Claimed he was being depicted as 'the bad guy' in the music industry
  • Also attacked authorities following deaths of black men at police hands
  • Mentioned Freddie Gray, Mike Brown and referred to Eric Garner when he said 'them continue choking n***as'

Beyonce looked like one satisfied customer as she left Terminal 5 on Sunday night.

The 33-year-old had just seen her husband Jay Z perform his second private show for Tidal subscribers in New York.

The night before, the rapper had launched into a blistering counter attack of those who dared to speak against the couple's embattled new streaming service.

The 45-year-old wore Air Jordans - which he bought despite Nike founder Phil Knight being loaded - with black pants, a black T-shirt, white jacket and baseball cap.

Beyonce left separately, wearing a short black skirt and heels with a sequinned basketball shirt; a blazer thrown over one shoulder and her hair in a loose pony over the other.

But they both had smiles on their faces, looking satisfied heir point had been made during Jay Z's freestyle dissing session on Saturday night.

Sparkle and shine in s D.I.Y. by Panida sequined jersey like Beyonce

Queen Bey is known for her diverse wardrobe that runs the gamut from custom-made Givenchy to picking up up and coming designers off Etsy. Here she's sporting a one-off sequined basketball jersey by a tiny indie designer called D.I.Y. by Panida.

In 2004, the designer opened her first store at Bangkok’s largest and most popular outdoor market “Jatujak” but finally launched her website (check it out to the right) for her special one-of-a-kind tricked out pieces.

Beyonce always knows what on the up and up. We love how Bey paired her Bulls jersey with Louboutins and a leather skirt to really vamp up an otherwise very sporty look. This is the quintessential embodiment of the hottest trend this spring - sports luxe!

Head over to the right to get a Panida sequined jersey like Beyonce or check out our other suggestions below if the one you want is already sold out. With the comparable one from Ashish costing almost 2k, we think the Panida one is a STEAL.

During his tirdade, Jay Z claimed he was being depicted as 'the bad guy' because he's going against the grain, before turning on Google and YouTube for underpaying artists, claiming they 'pay you a tenth of what you supposed to get'.

'You know n***as die for equal pay right?  You know when I work I ain't your slave right?' he spat.

He also included Beat's co-founder Jimmy Iovine in that list, who was previously accused of trying to lure high profile artists away from Tidal.

As he insisted he wasn't going to get bullied, he then took a swift and angry tangent onto the recent controversial deaths involving law enforcement, or in Trayvon Martin's case, by neighbourhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.

'But I can't tell how the way they killed Freddie Gray right? Shot down Mike Brown, how they did Tray right?'

'Let them continue choking n***as,' he added, referring to yet another death involving police: Eric Garner.

Then he even turned on the hypocrites - although he smiled at the crowd as he did - who dare to complain about Tidal's high prices topping off Jay Z's $520million fortune, when they never complained about filling Steve Jobs' or Phil Knight's pockets when they were buying iPhones and Nikes.

'Oh, n***as are skeptical 'cause they own shit - You bought nine iPhones and Steve Jobs is rich, Phil Knight worth trillions you still bought those kicks,' he said, before rounding on enemy number one: 'Spotify is 9 billion they ain't say sh*t '.

The B-sides show was only open to Tidal subscribers who compiled a playlist of the rappers lesser known tracks as part of a competition.

Yesterday Jay Z - whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter - was also spotted leaving his Midtown office in Manhattan and heading into the recording studio with Vic Mensa and Charles Hamilton.

He has tried to defend his fledgling streaming service a number of times before.

At the end of April, he said: 'The iTunes Store wasn't built in a day. It took Spotify 9 years to be successful. We are here for the long haul. Please give us a chance to grow and get better.'

In its first month it flopped in the iTunes app store charts, despite a launch from big names.

It is not known why the app has dropped so significantly but the price may be considered too high for some users.

Many users who downloaded it and are using it during the trial period may be looking to cancel their subscriptions and uninstall, or alternatively coverage of the app has dropped.

WHAT IS TIDAL?

The membership-based service - similar to Spotify - offers music and exclusive video content that users can stream on computers, tablets and smartphones or listen to offline.

Tidal currently has more than 25 million songs and 75,000 music videos in its library.

Tidal is billed as the first artist-owned platform for music and video and the service aims to compete directly with Spotify and Apple's music service, headed by Dr Dre.

Users can pay either $9.95 a month for a standard streaming service or $19.99 for high quality streaming in the US.

The same tiers cost £9.99 and £19.99 in the UK.

Unlike rival Spotify, the service doesn't have a free tier - meaning the musicians stand to make more money from it, but this also means it doesn't play adverts.

Tidal streams at 1,411 kilobytes per second - above the 320 for subscribers of Spotify.

JAY Z'S FREESTYLE LYRICS IN FULL

So I’m the bad guy now I hear, because I don’t go with the flow / Don’t ever go with the flow, be the flow

And I don’t need no middle man to talk to my n***as / I understand if you don’t understand, I figure I’m Jigga / That’s where we differ

I take what’s mine, you accept what they they give you, I get you

I don’t take no checks, I take my respect / Pharrell even told me go with the safest bet

Jimmy Iovine offered a safety net / Google dangled around a crazy cheque / I feel like Youtube is the biggest culprit / Them n***as pay you a tenth of what you supposed to get

You know n***as die for equal pay right? / You know when I work I ain't your slave right?

You know I ain't shucking and jiving and high fiving / You know this ain't back in the days right?

But I can't tell how the way they killed Freddie Gray right / Shot down Mike Brown, how they did Tray right?

Let them continue choking n***as / We gonna turn style, I ain't your token n***a

You know I came in this game independent right? / Tidal, my own label, same difference

Oh, n***as are skeptical 'cause they own shit / You bought nine iPhones and Steve Jobs is rich / Phil Knight worth trillions you still bought those kicks / Spotify is 9 billion they ain't say sh*t

Lucy you got some Explaining to do / The only one they hating on look the same as you / I know they trying to bamboozle you / Spending millions on media trying to confuse you

I had to talk to myself, Hov you used to it / It's politics as usual
