The advert arrives as the nation debates water restrictions during a historic drought in California, with Pamela declaring that the solution isn't just shorter showers but also turning off the tap on animal agriculture.
The campaign, Make a splash for the environment—try vegan, will be shown by Pammy on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing this Thursday, May 21.
Pamela says in a statement: 'Rivers are siphoned off, not just for the animals but also for crops grown to feed animals on factory farms,'

The PETA honorary director and longtime vegan adds: 'Producing one pound of beef uses as much water as about six months of showers.'
The commercial, which is a spoof of a Psycho's famous shower scene, was photographed by David LaChapelle.
Last month in Pamela's home state of California, Governor Jerry Brown issued a controversial executive order to reduce urban water usage by 25 percent―without restricting water used by animal agriculture, the number one culprit of the drought.
Fifty-five percent of the country's water supply is drained by animal agriculture, whereas only five percent is used in homes, according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
