'He's all boy with a really tender heart!': Sandra Bullock tells Ellen DeGeneres about the man in her life, son Louis

She hasn't been in a serious relationship since her divorce from Monster Garage host Jesse James in 2010.

That's because Sandra Bullock is quite happy with her other main man, Louis, whom she adopted from New Orleans as a baby.

On Monday, the 50-year-old actress told Ellen DeGeneres on her show that her son, now aged five, reduced her to tears on Mothers Day on May 10.

Blaming it on the fact that 'I feel hormonal,' she added: 'He sang me a song that he wrote...and I didn’t have the heart to tell him he plagiarized. But it was, ya know, Bingo.'

And then Sandra sang: 'There was a mom I love so much and Sandy was her name-o.'

She added: 'I’m just like "ahhhh." And then he played the harmonica in between and then he just kept looking at me. And I just, ya know' as she indicated the tears.

A sympathetic Ellen replied: 'He sounds like he has a great personality.' And the proud mum agreed: 'Yeah, he’s all boy with a really tender heart.'

The Gravity star also surprised Ellen when she revealed that she took him to Mardi Gras when they went to New Orleans where she was working on a film last year.

The bawdy celebration is infamous for girls flashing their breasts to get the folks on the highly decorated floats to throw beads at them.

The audience laughed when the TV host feigned shock and asked: 'What kind of mother are you?'

Sandra brushed it off, saying: 'I think a good one. I think if you’re gonna learn, you’re gonna learn.

'He’s like "why don’t they [the breasts] look like yours?" Well, I don’t have any. No, oddly, there were no breasts. Except for a friend of ours who felt the need to show hers. But I was too busy catching the beads,' she insisted.

Sandra's voice will next be heard in Minions, the prequel to Despicable Me, as baddie Scarlett Overkill opposite Jon Hamm as her husband Herb.

She has also completed Our Brand Is Crisis, based on the documentary of the same name, about the use of American political campaign strategies in South America co-starring Anthony Mackie and Billy Bob Thornton.
