'We want to share this with our brother!' One Direction dedicate Billboard Award win to Zayn Malik... after admitting they were angry when he quit the group
Just a few days ago One Direction finally admitted that they were 'a little bit angry' when Zayn Malik dramatically quit the group in March.
And with Louis Tomlinson's recent Twitter spat with their former bandmate, it appeared as if the formerly close quintet's relationship had irretrievably broken down.
However, fans were delighted on Sunday night when Liam Payne gave a shout out to their 'brother' Zayn as the group picked up the Top Group/Duo gong at the Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, saying: 'There's one more person to share this with and that's our brother Zayn, so thank you very much.'

This one's for our brother: Liam Payne paid tribute to former One Direction member Zayn Malik as the group picked up the Top Group/Duo gong at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday
During the speech Niall Horan praised their loyal fans, saying: 'This is absolutely incredible. It's an incredible honour to be here and to be in that category. It's unbelievable to come out as the winner, so we just want to say a big thank you to all of you who voted for it, we want to say a massive thank you to Billboard and again to our super, super fans.
'You've been absolutely amazing to us, we love you so much and we'll see you soon.'
One Direction were also named Top Touring Artist, making it a successful night for the group in one of their first public appearances since Zayn walked away from the chart-toppers, which are rounded out by Harry Styles.
Double winners: The group also picked up the gong for Top Touring Artist after telling Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic that they would continue without Zayn Malik
Earlier the four remaining members of One Direction were anxious to reassure their millions of fans that 'we're not breaking up' as they chatted with Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet.
Zayn announced that he was leaving via the boy band's official Facebook on March 25, breaking the hearts of millions who feared for the future of his heartthrob mates.
Never forget: Liam used the acceptance speech to reach out to Zayn, just days after admitting they were angry he had left
And then there were four: The group have vowed to continue as a foursome, since Zayn sensationally quit the band
'My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined,' the singer said at the time.
'But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart.
'I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight,' he added.
Fan-tastic: Niall used his acceptance speech to thank the group's loyal fans
However, it wasn't all serious as Styles, 21, lightened the mood when at one stage he grabbed 21-year-old Horan's crotch.
The hitmakers were all dressed in rock star black jackets and black jeans with Louis in a black T-shirt and Niall in a white shirt.
Liam chose a white T-shirt with a scarf draped around his neck and Harry wore a black shirt and loosened black tie.
Aside from Top Duo/Group and Top Touring Act, they were nominated in two other of the 41 categories including Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist, pitting them up against Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift.
Billboard is a chart that tracks music popularity and also a publication that covers the music business.
Moving on: The group seemed happier than ever after all of the recent drama with Zayn
It has been hosting an annual awards ceremony since 1989 before going dormant in 2007. The event returned in 2011.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, the band admitted their anger with Zayn.
Speaking on TV for the first time as a four-piece, in an interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show on Thursday night, Liam said: 'At first we were a little bit angry. We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling.
'There were certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts of the job that he didn't. If you don't like your job, you've got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. There's no argument with that.'
Rock stars: The hitmakers were all dressed in rock star black jackets and black jeans which they styled in their own way
Double winners: The group picked up two gongs on the night but missed out on a further two
But Louis said: 'There has been a bit of back and forth, we are on good terms with him.'
Addressing the hostile Twitter exchange, which also involved record producer Naughty Boy, he added: 'I've never been very good at biting my tongue. Maybe I get it from my mum. It is one of those things.
'Twitter is great for connecting with the fans but if you also feel like saying something you probably shouldn't, it is good for that, or bad in this case. But it's all resolved, it's all good in the hood.
Naughty Boy had posted a picture of himself with Zayn on his social media sites, writing 'caption this'.

A tweet soon followed Tomlinson, which read: 'Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your pictures were cool haha ! Some people still do HA!'
Naughty Boy responded directly, writing: 'and some people can't even sing.. but who's complaining when there's auto tune eh'.
A few days later after the war of words broke, Malik took to Twitter to defend Naughty Boy and replied to Tomlinson, saying: 'Remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?'
All to play for: The boys, pictured on the red carpet before the ceremony, were nominated in four of the 41 categories, winning two
