Don't smudge them! Talon-ted actress Elle Fanning leaves salon with wet nails as she steps out in workout gear

She's a busy working actress and Elle Fanning made sure she made the most of a day off when she treated herself to a spot of pampering on Monday. 

The 17-year-old was pictured wearing her gym gear, no doubt after a workout session, stepping out in a striped vest top and leggings in Studio City, California. 

With her blonde locks worn in a messy up do, the young star had clearly just visited a nail salon and took great care not to smudge her white manicure.

She had treated herself to a pedi as well and was sporting pink flip-flops from the beauticians in order to let her nails dry before putting her shoes back on.

The make-up free Maleficent actress tied a red hoody around her waist and carried a red leather handbag on one shoulder, carrying her phone in her hand.

Elle is currently filming 2016 movie, Ballerina, which is set in 1879 Paris, alongside Dane DeHaan.

In the movie, an orphan girl dreams of becoming a ballerina and flees her rural Brittany for Paris, where she passes for someone else and accedes to the position of pupil at the Grand Opera house.

The busy star has also just been announced as starring in All The Bright Places, in which a girl befriends a boy atop a school bell tower and the pair form a unique bond filled with life lessons. 

The American star kicked off her career in showbusiness as a toddler, playing the younger versions of her now 21-year-old sister, Dakota, who also was a child actress.

Aged seven, Dakota had her breakout role in 2001's I Am Sam and Elle played a younger version of her character Lucy Diamond Dawson.

She later found fame in Daddy Day Care and We Bought A Zoo.

In 2011, Elle went on to play the strong-minded Cleo in Sofia Coppola's film Somewhere, for which she won the Young Hollywood's Actress of the Year award.
