The great and the good of show business have descended on the French Riviera for the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival.

But as the event got into full swing along the famous Croisette on Wednesday morning, holidaying couple Tamara Ecclestone and Jay Rutland were topping up their tans on one of the city's many beaches - from where they admired a breathtaking view across the Mediterranean.

Tamara, 30, displayed her famously slender frame in a khaki green bikini top and denim shorts while sprawled across the sand.

The socialite daughter of Formula 1 owner Bertie Ecclestone added to her beach ready look with a pair of obligatory shades as she divided her affections between husband Jay and their fourteen-month old daughter Sophia.

With temperatures hotting up in the coastal city the family stayed cool beneath the shade of a parasol as they idled on the beach.

At one point playful Jay - a former Pacific Continental broker - leaned over his wife for an affectionate kiss before furring over their infant child.

It's normally Tamara Ecclestone whose clothes we obsess over.

The youngster looked adorable in a multi-coloured summer dress and straw hat as she crawled on the sand close to her doting parents.

But while the family took it easy Jay was forced into action after a gust of wind blew their parasol across the beach, sending him in hot pursuit.

Tamara later posted what are fast becoming obligatory snaps of her daughter for followers on Instagram.

The second - a shot of her daughter in front of a sweeping Mediterranean backdrop - was shared with the caption: 'Little lady.'

Tamara is making the most of a break after launching her latest foray into the beauty industry in March, a lavish blow-dry store located on Westbourne Grove in London.

The slick salon sees its clients enter through the black-fronted shops to be greeted by polished blow-dry stations with beautiful pink roses resting on every surface.
