Emily Blunt wows in unusual patterned dress at Cannes photocall... as she greets newly engaged co-star Josh Brolin with a hug

Her new movie Sicario is a gritty drug-trade thriller but Emily Blunt brightened up proceedings at the photocall in Cannes on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old actress wowed in a brightly patterned dress, which sat at a demure length just below her knee but featured a slit to flash her toned legs.

Emily completed the outfit with yellow strappy sandals and opted for bright red lipstick.

Blunt, who is married to John Kraskinski, was joined a the photocall by her newly engaged co-star Josh Brolin.

Clearly still in a celebratory mood, he warmly greeted the gorgeous Brit with a hug.

His spokesperson confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday that the 47-year-old Oscar-nominee is engaged to his former assistant Kathryn Boyd.

Steal Emily's style this summer in an embroidered white dress

Emily Blunt is the latest star to rock a photo call at the Cannes Film Festival.

The British actress is promoting her new movie Sicario and looked gorgeous in a rather fabulous dress by Peter Pilotto. The London based label is renowned for its bold clashing prints and we love the Pilotto take on embroidery in this design.

In a midi length with long sleeves it's a demure look, but that cute thigh split adds a touch of sex appeal. Unfortunately as Emily's LWD (little white dress...) is from the AW15 collection it's not available to buy online as yet.

But if you need some Pilotto in your life, and your wardrobe, this summer then click (right) to check out the current line at Net-a-Porter. With fans including Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and Miranda Kerr, you'll be joining a pretty stylish bunch.

Or recreate Emily's look using our edit below. We love Bebe's embellished dress or splash the cash on See by Chloe.
