The amFAR gala is one of the hottest tickets at Cannes International Film Festival.

And Australian model Shanina Shaik met expectations on the red carpet in a stunning see-through black gown.

The Victoria's Secret beauty channeled old-Hollywood glamour in the floor-length Philipp Plein number, which featured lace panels to give just a glimpse of skin.

The 24-year-old kept her look classic, going for bold red lipstick and with her dark hair pulled into an up-do.

The Melbourne-born stunner mingled with VIPs including Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Miller, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Dita Von Teese, Marion Cotillard and Paris Hilton.

Shanina cuddled up to the American heiress inside the glamorous event, leaning her head on the blonde as they posed for a photo together.

amfAR's 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala was held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc near Cannes in Cap d'Antibes, and raises funds and awareness for the non-profit organisation (The Foundation for AIDS Research).

A day earlier the beauty of Lithuanian, Pakistani and Saudi Arabian descent was spotted boarding a yacht in the French riviera town.

She wore a jumpsuit in a wine-coloured shade that featured a plunging neckline and asymmetric sleeves.

The New York-based star is dating male model Tyson Beckford, who she has been with on and off for several years.
