Mello died October 29, 2014 by a single gunshot wound to the head in a Woodland Hills, California hotel room.

A man named Jorge Rodriguez was arrested November 11, 2014 and charged with murder.

Rodriguez, who is being held on $2 million bail, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday in Van Nuys, reports CBSLA.

Police did not say what role Pawlik may have played in the killing, describing her only as an accessory after the fact.

Pawlik and Picardo - who played the emergency medical hologram known as The Doctor - have been involved in a drawn-out, contentious divorce since he first filed papers in July 2012.

In November 2014, the 61-year-old applied for a restraining order against his wife and told the judge that he feared for his life, reported TMZ.

As evidence he filed court papers contending that Pawlik was being investigated in connection with Mello’s death, saying the man was killed with a gun registered to Pawlik.

Picardo claimed Pawlik was ordered to turn over all 10 of her handguns when he got the restraining order, but he claims at least 4 guns were never turned in including the one was used to murder Mello, reports TMZ.

He also said she associated with violent criminals and drug users.

A judge also ordered Pawlik to move off of Picardo’s property and she was evicted on December 7.

Picardo and Pawlik have had multiple public spats since he filed for divorce in 2012.

On July 4, 2014 officers investigated a domestic violence incident at his home after someone in the house called 911 and hung up.

Pawlik claimed her husband hurt her in a fight but no arrests were made.

The couple got maried in 1984 and have two daughters.
