GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Harry's new trek - down a high street near you

Don't be surprised if you bump into Prince Harry marching down your high street this autumn – he’s signed up to take part in a 1,000-mile walk through dozens of British towns.

I can reveal the 30-year-old, who is currently weighing up how to balance his Army career with his charity commitments, has added another challenge to his Royal diary.

He will hike through Britain to increase awareness for Walking With The Wounded, the charity which raises funds to help retrain servicemen and women injured in the course of duty.

The Prince has already trekked to the North and South Poles to raise money for the charity. Now he will join a team of injured British soldiers for part of the charity’s fifth fundraising initiative, which begins at the end of the summer.

The epic walk will start in Scotland and finish at Twickenham Stadium in West London on October 31 to coincide with the final of the Rugby World Cup. The Prince will take a week out of his Army commitments to join those soldiers taking part, no doubt causing mass hysteria among single women in the towns and villages he passes through.

‘Prince Harry has of course been invited to join the walk,’ revealed for Walking With The Wounded spokesman Ed Parker.

‘It’s still early days but we are currently finalising the route and the team. We have a number of leg amputees on the list and we are very much hoping that the medics will give them the go-ahead to do the walk.’

A source close to the Prince said: ‘Harry is very excited about this expedition and it being in the UK. He’s planning to take part and he’s used all his connections to make it happen so that the Walking With The Wounded team end the trek at Twickenham on the day of the final.’

I hear Harry is also in talks to become a patron of Blesma, a charity which supports soldiers who have lost limbs or their eyesight representing their country.

A spokesman for the Prince said it was ‘too early’ to comment on his plans for later this year.

Captain Wales, as he is called in the Forces, was expected to return to the skies with the Army Air Corps after arranging the Invictus Games – the Olympic-style event for wounded Service personnel held in London last year. But he recently told military top brass he wants to continue working with injured troops before returning next year to his parent regiment, the Blues and Royals.

Gwyneth Paltrow put a lot of effort into ‘consciously uncoupling’ from husband Chris Martin last year – but it may not be working!

The Iron Man star wore a gorgeous Ralph & Russo gown to the Oscars, but she didn’t flaunt it at the glamorous after-parties.

Instead, she went home early to see Chris, 37, and children Moses, eight, and Apple, ten.

Hollywood is now abuzz with talk of the pair ‘consciously coupling’ again as they are spending so much time together, with Gwyneth, 42, letting slip: ‘We’re very close and it’s so nice.’

Alexa Chung is keen to quash rumours she’s too thin, so she’s posted a picture of a box of doughnuts on Instagram.

Of course, she didn’t go out buy them – she waited until a food firm sent them to her for free. The presenter and fashion darling explained: ‘I’m often being told via social media comments that I should “eat a f****** doughnut”.

Well, the guys at Krispy Kreme had the nous to actually send me some.’ Sadly Alexa, 31, failed to post a snap of herself actually eating one…

So she’s posted a picture of a box of doughnuts on Instagram, adding: ‘I’m often being told via social media comments that I should “eat a f****** doughnut”'
