Marion Cotillard puts on a colourful display in striped jumpsuit and killer heels as she promotes Macbeth in Cannes

French screen siren Marion Cotillard put on a colourful display in a striped jumpsuit as she promoted her new film Macbeth in Cannes.

The actress sported a silk all-in-one for the appearance, showing off her trim figure as she posed for photographs.

She was joined by co-star Michael Fassbender who takes the leading role in the adaptation of the Shakespeare classic due to be released later this year.

The 39-year-old stunned in her silk jumpsuit which featured green, red and yellow vertical strips.

Keeping her accessories simple, the actress wore a gold necklace around her neck and wore her brunette locks straight with chunks pinned off of her face.

She finished her look with a pair of pink metallic stilettos.

The natural beauty sported minimal make up with just some bronze eyes shadow and a pink lip.

Think pink in Marion Cotillard's metallic mules

We're going to lay our cards on the table: We've got a serious girl crush on Marion Cotillard.

Our reasoning pretty much starts and ends with the fact she's French; Marion has become synonymous for her elegant Parisian style, and we quite frankly want to bottle it.

Her latest look isn't helping our girl crushing levels either; we love the silky stripes of her tailored jumpsuit by Ulyana Sergeenko, and those pink metallic heels are like the lovechild of Barbie and an astronaut. Dreamy!

Admittedly, if we walked in the door wearing this get up, our other halves would have a field day. There are some things in life (predominantly fashion trends and the ability to put dirty socks in the washing machine) men just don't get. Ignore them though ladies - these uneducated amateurs know nothing about fashion.

Marion's futuristic heels are by famed footwear designer Giuseppe Zanotti, and are yours to buy just by clicking to the right. Just keep it quiet how much you spent on them, obvs.

Alternatively get the look on the high street - Office's metallic mules are a dead ringer for the designer version, whilst the price of New Look's sandals makes them entirely guilt free. We'll be wearing ours with a crisp white dress, and faking a French accent. Tres bien!

Fassbender looked dapper in a blue suit jacket with a white shirt and jeans. The star kept a pair of brown shades on as he arrived at the event on Saturday.

The 12 Years A Slave star plays the title role in the production directed by Justin Kurzel.

Cotillard, who shot to fame in La Vie en Rose, plays the character's murderously ambitious wife, Lady Macbeth.

The actress previously spoke of the challenges of taking on such an iconic role, claiming she did not know if she had performed well while filming.

'Well first of all with the language, Shakespearean English, and also it’s kind of hard to talk about it," she told Hitfix.

'I haven’t seen the movie and I have no idea if what I did in this movie is good. I don’t know. I lost control of everything in this movie.

'I have no idea of what I did in this movie. So it’s kind of hard for me to talk about it because I’m still in the darkness. Yeah, it was total darkness.'

Fassbender echoed her comments, admitting that the premier in Cannes would be the first time he would see his performance.

'I’ll see it in Cannes for the first time,' he told Variety earlier this month, adding that he did not try to perfect Shakespearean rhythm.

'I’m a little dyslexic with the iambic pentameter. I just always tried to make sense of it, and hoped the rhythm would follow,' he said.
