Blonde ambition! Megan Fox is barely recognizable sporting a curly wig on the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Do blondes really have more fun?

Megan Fox is willing to test the old adage in her role as April O'Neil in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie.

The 28-year-old actress is known for her jet black hair and piercing blue eyes, but on Tuesday she sported an entirely different look while wearing a curly blonde wig on set in New York.

Returning to her role as the TV news reporter April O'Neil, the knockout will clearly face more than a few costume changes.

As her look evolves with the plot, the investigative journalist may be sporting the wig for an undercover mission to help her rowdy reptile friends, or to more closely resemble the original version of the character played by Judith Hoag.

The 90s actress wore a frizzy hairdo and complained in an interview with Variety saying, 'I remember just hating my hair in the movie. They gave me this really horrible perm and it never cooperated.'

Walking down the steps of a trailer on set, the actress may or may not have been dressed in character.

Sporting a loose fitted gray tank with black baggy cut off sweats, the red flannel wrapped around her waist could easily be seen as a throw back to the 90s or a vintage piece worn today.

The black Nike trainers strongly suggest that her outfit is off-camera casual attire, but her frizzy blonde curls are definitely part of her character's look.

The Teen Choice Awards Female Hottie was surely in costume while sporting a very business-like ensemble on set.

She wore a professional gray blazer over a white button up blouse, paired with a short black skirt layered over sheer black stockings.

The look was completed with floppy gray Ugg-type boots, which can only be assumed were not part of the on-screen outfit.

The mother-of-two described the difficulty of being away from her young sons in an interview with People

'It’s so hard to be a working mom especially when your heart is not in your work, when your heart is with your family,' she said.

'I have to make one movie a year because I have to invest in their future and I have to be able to pay their way through college and be able to provide for them.'

So far filming for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has been a bit easier on Fox than the first movie - as she was pregnant with her second child at the time of filming.

'I constantly had a big box of saltine crackers with me wherever I went. So in between takes I would scurry away and shove a bunch of saltines in my mouth to keep me from being nauseous,' she told People

The upcoming film is set to release in June of 2016.

Join the khaki army in Megan's Belstaff jacket

For Megan Fox, looking good is a military operation. Whether she's filming for scenes for a new movie or enjoying some family time she never steps out of line.

This time she's dressed as her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 alter ego, TV news reporter April O'Neil. But this is an outfit we could see Megan wearing in her everyday life! Between the distressed skinny jeans, ankle boots and utility jacket, it's effortlessly casual and super practical.

Thanks to the little logo on the sleeve and the signature four pocket design, Megan's jacket is instantly recognizable. It's by Belstaff, a British brand we've spotted on everyone from David Beckham and Benedict Cumberbatch to Blake Lively and Kate Moss. Click the link (right) if you want to join this stylish club.

Alternatively, we've found some great military-inspired high street options to help you stand to attention and stand out. Billabong's would make a great layer for festival season.
