She's usually incredibly stylish, but Shakira was sporting a strange series of ensembles on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old singer was rocking a bright blue baseball cap with a matching T-shirt and skirt as she arrived at a beauty parlour in Barcelona, Spain, before re-emerging in a matching pink outfit.

She kept a low profile as she headed into the building, accompanied by her brother Tonino.

The star looked more like she was going to work at her local fast food joint than treating herself to a pampering session.

The mother-of-two - who has sons Milan, two and four-month-old Sasha, with her partner Gerard Piqué - finished off the sporty look with a pair of old trainers.

Shakira wore her hair knotted in a bun and opted for a minimal make-up look.

The Columbian beauty baffled onlookers by re-emerging from the venue in a similar, all-pink look two hours later.

The star has been lying low since releasing her self-titled tenth studio album last year, her first English language record since 2009's She Wolf.

Shakira recently opened up about the joys of motherhood in an interview with Parents Latina magazine.

'I apply the same amount of dedication to being a mom as I do to my music', she said.

'Becoming a mom forced me to reprioritise and make room for the things that are most important, while recognising that there are things I can let go of and the world won't crumble around me.

'Their dad and I both grew up in very close-knit families, and that has made us openly affectionate parents.'
