Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans to turn herself into police after arrest warrant is issued following brawl with ex-fiance

Jenelle Evans will turn herself into police on Thursday morning.

An arrest warrant was issued for the Teen Mom 2 star after she allegedly 'attacked and choked' ex-fiance Nathan Griffith on Wednesday morning in South Carolina.

The 23-year-old's attorney Amy S. Lawrence told Us Weekly that Griffith initially didn't want to press charges but was 'pressured' into doing so by police, and now wants them dropped.

'I can confirm that there is a warrant out for Jenelle's arrest for criminal domestic violence, stemming from an incident that happened last night,' she said. 'She is not taking any charges out on him.'

'He will do everything that he can to get these charges dismissed for Jenelle,' Lawrence continued. 'He understands that she's hurt because they've broken up, and he's dating somebody else and things escalated in a way they shouldn't have. But he does not want her to have any kind of criminal consequence for this.

She added: 'We are going to turn Jenelle in tomorrow morning, and we'll have her bond hearing tomorrow afternoon in Myrtle Beach City.'

Immediately after the incident the MTV star's PR rep claimed Griffith had 'run over' her in his truck, and that she was pressing charges of her own. But her lawyer later confirmed she did not require medical treatment.

According to Nathan: The 23-year-old Teen Mom 2 star 'smelled of alcohol and tried choking him with his shirt.' He further informed police that Jenelle was 'outside his apartment screaming, 'He won't give me back my son!'' (pictured on May 13)

'She's just…I think that in her heart she thought that maybe with them breaking up that they would get back together because they have a child together,' Lawrence explained. 'And I think she's just very hurt that he has moved on.'

The lawyer confirmed that a 'custody pan' was gong to be worked out; the former couple have a one-year-old son together - Kaiser - who is currently in Griffith's care. Evans' other six-year-old son Jace - on whom she was '16 and Pregnant' - lives with her mother, Barbara Evans.

The altercation broke out early on Wednesday morning when Nathan told Myrtle Beach police that 'Jenelle called him in the morning informing him she was outside his apartment damaging his car.'

On the defense: Following the TMZ report, Jenelle's rep took to their Twitter account to clarify the rumours

According to TMZ, the father-of-one stated 'he ran outside where they began arguing when she started attacking him, slapping, punching and even trying to kick him down a flight of stairs.'

He said Jenelle 'smelled of alcohol and tried choking him with his shirt.' He further informed police that Jenelle was 'outside his apartment screaming, 'He won't give me back my son!''

The police report concluded Nathan had visible scratches around his neck and bruising on the side of his face.

If and when she is arrested for this latest incident, it will be her twelfth charge since debuting on MTV's 16 and Pregnant in 2009.

Following the TMZ report, Jenelle's rep took to their Twitter account to clarify the rumours.

'For those asking, Jenelle was at Nathan's to pick up her son,' the rep wrote. 'Nathan stole her phone & refused to hand over Kaiser. This is how it started.

'Neighbors called the police after witnessing Nathan run Jenelle over. Her attorney is involved & this will be handled in compliance with LE.'

Adding: 'Nathan ran over Jenelle with his truck before the incident in the police report. Jenelle is seeking charges & is ready to get the truth out.'

This is not the first domestic violence occurrence between the estranged couple.

In March, Nathan was arrested for domestic violence charges for allegedly getting into a physical altercation with Jenelle.

In December 2013, the Teen Mom star was arrested for a dispute with Nathan and was booked on charges of 'breaching the peace.'

And in January 2012, Jenelle was taken into custody twice for violating a domestic violence protective order because she made harassing phone calls and threats to an unidentified individual.

Nathan also has a record. In April 2014, he was arrested after driving with a suspended license. And in September 2013, he was charged with a DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license.

Jenelle and Nathan welcomed their son Kaiser in June 2014. They got engaged while on vacation in St. Thomas in January.

The reality star has tried but failed on several occasions to regain custody of her oldest son Jace from her mother.
