But it seems Gigi Hadid is still very much on Cody Simpson's mind as he appeared a little down in the dumps when stepped out in Los Angeles on Wednesday for a night on the town with pals.

The 18-year-old singer kept his hands in his jean pockets as a mystery blonde placed her arm around the hunk when they stepped out of a fast food joint to be greeted by fans.

The blonde star didn't seem to show any emotion as he attempted to keep his face hidden with the cap of his hat while his group of friends giggled in the background and made small talk.

Cody's night out with his friends comes just days after it emerged that Gigi had been spotted getting cosy with British formula one driver Lewis Hamilton after the Monaco Grand Prix.

In a further display of affection, Gigi, 20, posted a snap of her with Nicole Scherzinger's ex to Instagram, in which she accompanied the image with a gushing message

She wrote: 'We love you @lewishamilton. Everyone knows you da champ. #TEAMLH.'

Gigi and Cody confirmed earlier this month in a statement to gossip site E! News that they had split for a second time and once again blamed their busy schedules for the end of the romance.

The statement also insisted the two bear no 'hard feelings' and are committed to remaining friends.

'Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career,' the rep said.

'They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future,' the statement added.
